Zedus is a kaiju that appeared in the 2006 movie Gamera: The Brave. Zedus serves as the antagonist to Gamera's son Toto
Background[]
Not much is about Zedus. It is a type of aquatic reptile that has a liking for human flesh. It caused several ship sinkings, and in search of humans, it travels to Shima, where it have to face off with Toto, who was trying to protect the people of the city. After being knocked out by Toto in Shima, Zedus later appears in Nagoya, where it yet again have to battle with a now fully grown Toto.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Keen Swimmer: Despite having a body made to walk on land with, Zedus spend most of its time under water and travels quite effectively under it.
- Tongue: Zedus' most unique form offense. Zedus' tongue has a sharp edge to it, and Zedus can out its tongue with great speed, making it effectively a projectile.
- Size: While not exactly large when compared to kaiju, Zedus still towers over the average house.
- Tail: Zedus has a tail which it can use as a weapon.
- Jumping: Despite its big size, Zedus has shown that it can jump great distances.
- Teeth: Being a carnivore, Zedus has a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth.

- It could fling part of a building a great distance(at least several streets long).
- Sank several ships
- When Toto wasn't fully grown, Zedus could kick him with such great power that it made him fly through several buildings.
- His tongue could penetrate a bridge made to hold traffic.
- Throughout both of their battles, Zedus was quite clearly physically superior to Toto.
- Whips from his tail could destroy concrete.
- When Toto was fully grown, Zedus could fling him on top a skyscraper easily longer than both of them.
- His tongue could penetrate Toto's shell.
Durability[]
- Could take a tackling from Toto while he was flying and a fall from a skyscraper.

- Attacking with its tongue leaves it open to being attacked in the mouth or on the tongue itself.
