White Diamond is a member of the Great Diamond Authority, and the main antagonist of the animated series Steven Universe.

Background

Not much is known about White Diamond's origins at this time. What is known however is that she is a member of the Gem homeworld's Diamond Authority. The Diamonds intended to use Earth for colonization after the homeworld's resources began dwindling, but a single Rose Quartz gem stood against them after falling in love with Earth, forming the Crystal Gems, and even shattering a member of the council, Pink Diamond (Which is faked). This sparked a hatred toward not only to all Rose Quartzes but the entire Earth as well. After Steven Universe himself revealing the whole truth about Pink to Yellow and Blue they, and the Crystal Gems embark on Homeworld to return and Steven convincing to White to stop the war and help them cure the uncorrupted gems. After some "heated disputes and arguments" he managed to convince White to do just that and accept the fact that she is not perfect as she believed and peace was restored on both planets.

Powers & Abilities

• Gem Physiology: Being a Gem, White Diamond likely possesses superhuman physique, and on top of that is practically immortal, unable to age and does not require things like nourishment or rest due to essentially being a rock. Being a diamond however, it's implied that this makes her much more durable than the average Gem, on account of diamonds being one of the hardest materials known to man.
• Mind Control: She shoots a laser beam on Gems mind controlling them as they are like puppets. Whenever a gem is mind controlled they lose all color turning into black, white, and grey and speak in unison with her voice. The puppets also have the ability to mind control other gems too.

Weaknesses

• Shattering: Despite being tougher than the average Gem, it is still possible for a Diamond to be shattered, as it was possible for Rose Quartz and Bismuth was developing a weapon specifically for that purpose. Even then her body can likely still be destroyed after enough damage, which will force her to reform, leaving her gemstone vulnerable.
• Narcissism and Controlling Nature: She can be controlling as well as being a narcississt as she is perfect and any lower lifeforms are nothing compared to her. She can also prone to childish tantrums if things don't go in her way.
