Background[]
Born as the Saiyan prince of the planet Vegeta, Vegeta's life was changed forever when the galactic tyrant Frieza destroyed his home planet, eradicating the Saiyan race, save for a few who either escaped, or were off planet at the time. Vegeta, who was unaware of his planets true reason for destruction, worked under Frieza until he found out the truth. He tried to kill Frieza but failed, entrusting that duty to the saiyan he met on earth, Kakorot, better known to his friends as Goku.
After being brought back to life by the dragon balls, Vegeta's life goal changed from eliminating Frieza, to surpassing Goku. It wasn't until the encounter with Majin Buu, where Vegeta's self loathing due to his inferiority complex eventually caused him to go to drastic measures until he finally saw the error of his ways, and began to respect Goku as a friendly rival to him.
I'm Vegeta now
Powers & Abilities[]
- Saiyan Physiology: Considered to be a prodigy, even amongst high-class warriors, Vegeta is the powerful Prince of all Saiyans, with his own strength even surpassing that of his father at a young age. As a Saiyan, Vegeta possesses a vast array of superhuman physical attributes, which he has trained to God-like levels through years of rigorous training.
- Superhuman Strength: As a Saiyan, Vegeta possesses immense physical strength, far more advanced than that of any human being, and most alien races. He is strong enough to effortlessly break all Earthling-made materials or weapons, move in increased gravity without any discomfort, and even lift a suit capable of sinking through a planet. Although, in a comical scene of the Dragon Ball Super manga, even as a Super Saiyan he is not strong enough to even make the one-thousand-ton Magetta move.
- Superhuman Speed: As an extremely experienced and trained Saiyan warrior, Vegeta can move and fly at hypersonic and eventually light speeds, enabling him the ability to travel great distances in short periods of time, or move at "untrackable" speeds while in combat.
- Superhuman Durability: As a highly trained Saiyan, Vegeta's body is far more durable than that of normal human beings, being essentially invulnerable to all Earthling-made weapons. However, while naturally durable thanks to his Saiyan physiology, he does have limits, as other powerful beings as himself can hurt, and potentially kill him, if he does not defend himself correctly, and when purposely lowering his guard and ki to protect him, even an energy wave from Krillin, a being far weaker than himself, was capable of leaving him near death, though it did require two attempts from the later, with Vegeta claiming his first try was useless.
- Superhuman Senses: Vegeta is able to think and react at extremely high speeds, easily able to dodge or catch projectiles fired from weapons, or even keep up with incredible combat speeds from his opponents. As a Saiyan, Vegeta also has enhanced senses of smell, taste and sight, which further increase his combat senses and instincts.
- Powerful Lungs: In the anime, Vegeta has shown himself capable of surviving for extended periods of time in outer space, without the need of air, although it can be assumed that extended deprivation of air will eventually lead to his death.
- Saiyan Power: A Saiyan genetic trait that allows their performance to continually increase against adversity, enabling them to heal faster and simultaneously improve compared to before.
- Rage Boost: A Saiyan’s true power comes from their rage. In addition to the Zenkai Boost, Saiyans also have the ability to dramatically increase their power while angered, without even needing to ascend to a form higher than the one they’ve already unlocked. While the other remaining pure blooded Universe 7 Saiyans (Goku and Broly) have shown this ability, Vegeta has the most defining example, in which he was able to do much better against Lord Beerus as a mere Super Saiyan 2 than Goku at Super Saiyan 3 when Beerus slapped his wife.
- Ki Manipulation: As an elite Saiyan warrior, Vegeta has great mastery over his own Ki, the natural life force every being has, and uses it to increases his fighting abilities.
- Flight: The ability to take flight through the manipulation of ki. As a Saiyan, Vegeta can naturally fly at incredible speeds with minimal effort.
- Ki Sense: The ability to sense the energy of other beings. Vegeta learned this technique after his first battle against Goku on Earth.
- Ki Transfer: Vegeta can grant some of his energy to a wounded person to restore some of their energy.
- Telekinesis: A technique that allows the user to manipulate objects and other people with the power of one's mind.
- Telepathy: It is a way to communicate with others using one's mind. Users can also read the minds of the ones they communicate with, similar to telepathic eavesdropping.
- Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave.
- Galick Gun: Vegeta's signature technique. Vegeta curls his fingers and places both his hands together at chest level facing the same direction (so that the palm of one hand is on the back of the other). Then, once enough ki is gathered, he thrusts both hands forward to fire a powerful blast of energy. The result is a powerful, huge, fuchsia-colored ki beam that emanates from his hands and body. It is capable of destroying large planets if enough power is put into it.
- Final Galick Cannon: Vegeta charges at the opponent and punches them in their face. Then, he attacks the opponent with a rapid barrage of punches and kicks before punching them in their stomach. Finally, Vegeta charges purple energy in his fist and fires the energy in the form of a Galick Gun through the opponent's stomach, inflicting a great deal of damage.
- Final Burst Cannon: To perform the attack, Vegeta draws his hands out to his sides as he powers up, creating an enormous whitish-purple aura around his body. Then, he throws his arms out in front of him and fires a large Galick Gun energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
- Galick Blazer: Vegeta shoots the attack from one hand, with the other arm supporting the one that is firing the attack.
- Double Galick Cannon: First, Vegeta charges at the opponent, but stops right in front of them and places both of his hands on the opponent's chest. Then, he charges yellow energy in his hands. Finally, Vegeta fires the yellow energy in the form of a massive energy wave against the opponent, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
- Super Galick Blaster: When he performs this move, Vegeta opens his mouth and fires a pink energy wave toward the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage.
- Lucora Gun: One of Vegeta's more common attacks is his Full Power Energy Blast Volley, the Lucora Gun. It is performed by rapidly alternating blasts between both hands to fire a massive barrage of ki blasts. Despite its generic nature, the technique is utilized by Vegeta so much that upon Goku seeing Buu utilize it, he refers to it as being "Vegeta's technique".
- Big Bang Attack: In order to perform it, Vegeta extends his arm, opens his palm and turns his hand up at a 90-degree angle. He then powers up and fires a powerful energy sphere at the opponent. This attack creates an enormous explosion upon contact and leaves a huge mushroom cloud.
- God Heat Flash: To perform the attack, Vegeta extends his arm, opens his hand, and charges ki in the palm of his hand, similar to the normal Big Bang Attack. However, Vegeta fires the attack as a beam instead of a sphere.
- Final Flash: The Final Flash is formed by drawing both hands back while gathering ki. Then, the user place bottom of their palms together, forming a sphere of energy that emits sporadic bolts of electric yellow ki that shoot out in all direction. Finally, the user discharges a massive golden beam of energy with electric ki streaming around it towards his opponent.
- Final Crash: First, Vegeta draws his hands to his sides and charges two whitish-blue energy spheres with streaks of electricity. Then, he brings his hands together with fingers spread apart and fires a massive energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a large amount of damage.
- Final Flash Attack: Immediately after unleashing a seemingly regular Final Flash, Vegeta reels back and gathers energy into one giant punch before propelling the energy forward in one immense concussive blast and sending the opponent flying, in many cases for miles or into a nearby building or rock face.
- Final Impact: Majin Vegeta raises his index finger, middle finger, and thumb forward and fires a powerful bolt of energy at the opponent, inflicting a large amount of damage.
- Gamma Burst Flash: Vegeta charges ki in both of his hands like a variant of Final Flash and then releases it similar to a Double Galick Cannon with his hands in an inverted position, resulting in a devastating beam capable of greatly damaging even those who are stronger than Vegeta himself.
- Atomic Blast: First, Vegeta says "Fool!" and punches the opponent in their stomach. Then, he attacks the opponent with a roundhouse kick and a punch to their back. Finally, Vegeta flips upside down in the air and blasts the opponent away with a yellow energy wave fired from his hands, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
- Final Explosion: To begin the attack, Vegeta gathers his life force and converts it into energy, creating flame-like ribbons of energy that spiral around his body. Both his and his opponent's bodies begin emitting small flecks of golden light, resembling dust blowing off of their skin.
- Final Shine Attack: The first version has Vegeta putting his right hand to his side and forming a green energy sphere then he brings his hand forward and fires a green energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a huge amount of damage. The second version has Vegeta performing the attack simply using the Final Flash stance instead.
- Energy Rings: Majin Vegeta extends his right arm and points his middle and index fingers at the opponent, as if he was about to use his Final Impact attack. Then, he fires five powerful rings made out of pure energy at his enemy, trapping them by their arms, legs, and neck so that Majin Vegeta can attack them while the opponent is incapable of fighting back.
- Kiai: A technique where the user affects the air currents around him with ki to produce powerful shockwaves in order to strike the opponent. In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Vegeta fires compressed air spheres from the palm of his hand at his opponents.
- Spirit Sword: Vegeta is able to use the Spirit Sword technique first displayed by Vegito. He uses it in the manga version of the Tournament of Power to stop himself from being knocked off the stage by Kale.
- Galaxy Breaker: First, Vegeta generates electricity around his chest and converts it into a bluish-white aura around his body. Then, he thrusts his chest forward and fires a huge energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage as well as causing the opponent's body to violently contort.
- Shine Shot: The user prepares a ball of fire in their hands and throws it, tossing the fireball at the opponent to severely burn them or worse. The user sometimes moves in a sideways direction after firing the attack.
- Tail Slicer: A variation of the Destructo Disc.
- Super Explosive Wave: The user stands charging energy around their body, then they explode with a gigantic energy sphere around their body. If the foe comes in contact with the Super Explosive Wave, it will deal much greater damage than the normal Explosive Wave. It can also be used for defense and offense at the very same time. It also appeared in the anime and some other video games with similar effects. The larger the user or the more ki they have, the wider and more enhanced it will become.
- Dirty Fireworks: With the enemy on the ground or in the air, Vegeta aims at them with his outstretched index and middle fingers held together and creates a huge explosion on the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
- Photon Bomber: First, the user raises his right hand as he curls his fingers and charges a white energy sphere. Then, he brings his hand forward and fires the energy sphere in the form of an energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
- Maximum Flasher: Vegeta draws his right hand back to his right side and charges a yellow energy sphere. Then, he brings his hand forward and fires the energy sphere in the form of an energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
- Heat Dome Attack: Vegeta points both his hands up in the air. Then, he charges a large dome of yellow energy around himself. From this energy dome expels a gigantic Finish Buster up at the opponent, inflicting an enormous amount of damage.
- Energy Slash: A variation of Tail Slicer. Used in Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler.
- Saiyan Energy Attack: He charges up a blast in a fashion similar to a Finish Buster, and fires it at the opponent to inflict a large amount of damage.
- Triple Blast: An anime only technique. Vegeta fires three yellow Ki Blasts from his left hand at the same time. He uses this attack on Perfect Cell. Named in the Dragon Ball Z Collectible Card Game.
- Dark Impact: When the opponent attempts to attack, Majin Vegeta shouts "What's the matter, is this all you got?" and moves to avoid the opponent's attack. Then, he puts his hands on the opponent's stomach and blasts them away with a yellow energy wave, inflicting a great amount of damage.
- Hellzone Grenade: Vegeta charges up and fires several energy spheres randomly in the opponent's direction, disregarding accuracy and with no intent on actually hitting the enemy. With efficient ki control, the multiple energy spheres are suspended in the air, completely surrounding them. Finally, Vegeta commands the energy spheres, which change from a yellow to purple color, to rapidly spin around the opponent and inevitably rain down on them with a vicious onslaught from every direction, filling the sky with a blinding light and inflicting a massive amount of damage.
- Final Kamehameha: A combination of and Vegeta's Final Flash and Goku's Kamehameha.
- Energy Palm: The one-handed energy wave used to kill Nappa in Dragon Ball GT.
- Full Power Energy Ball: Vegeta creates a large red ball of energy nearly identical to the Death Ball. He used this technique in an attempt to destroy the Universe Tree.
- Godly Ki Mastery: Vegeta can change the nature of his Ki to that of the gods, increasing his power drastically. With the Godly Ki, Vegeta gains access to god-level transformations such as the Super Saiyan God and the Super Saiyan Blue.
- Spirit Control: Vegeta learns this ability on the Planet Yardrat after his defeat at the hands of Moro. As part of this, Vegeta also learns Instant Transmission, albeit he noted he probably would be unable to use it again as it was unpracticed, nor would he try to as he despised using one of Goku's techniques. After completing his Spirit Control training, Vegeta is dubbed "Reborn Vegeta". With his training complete, Vegeta is able to use the extremely advanced Forced Spirit Fission ability.
- Instant Transmission: In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta quickly learns Instant Transmission in order to get back to Earth after his Yardrat training is complete.
- Spirit Fission: Learned from the Yardrats that also taught him Instant Transmission, Vegeta can use this technique to extract gained energy from his target. Specifically energy that does not specifically come from the target’s natural strength and abilities but rather an outside source, against Moro it was the energy he had stolen from various planets and people. However this technique needs to actually hit the opponent for it to activate, limiting its usefulness if the enemy can avoid Vegeta’s attacks.
- Cloning: In an extra gag manga strip for the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta is shown able to use Cloning as part of his Spirit Control training.
- Gigantification: In an extra gag manga strip for the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta is shown able to use Gigantification as part of his Spirit Control training.
- Hakai: The ability of Gods of Destruction of destroying anything from existence. With guidance from Beerus, Vegeta became capable of using Hakai by learning to focus his mind entirely on destruction. Vegeta primarily uses Hakai to destroy inanimate objects, releasing a huge quantity of energy upon their destruction. Vegeta became proficient with this skill, being recognized by Beerus himself and given a signature God of Destruction earring as proof of his mastery over this ability. With his Power of Destruction unleashed by Ultra Ego, Vegeta became capable of generating energy that destroyed blasts that touched it, going so far as being able to utilize the Beerus Ball - with this being his most powerful attack.
- Sphere of Destruction: Vegeta creates a large energy ball which destroys whatever it hits.
- Evil Aura: Vegeta can utilize the special dark energy unique to Evil Saiyans to empower his standard Super Saiyan Blue to attain the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk Controlled) transformation and via this form, Vegeta can utilize Evil Aura powered techniques like Désastre Claw and energy barrier wall.
- Afterimage Technique: An ability to move so swiftly that an image of the user is left behind.
- Extremely High Willpower: Vegeta's willpower, which is mainly fueled by his pride as the prince of the Saiyans, is such that he can stand great physical and mental stress. His willpower is such that he can remain immobile for days under the extreme conditions of a wasteland or counter Babidi's powerful Manipulation Sorcery.
- Gag Manga Awareness: Vegeta is capable of being aware of when he has entered into a gag manga environment, as opposed to his usual battle manga one. He is also capable of switching to a gag manga type fighting style in these situations, which he displays against Arale.
- Genius of Combat: Vegeta is a brilliant tactician having shown his skills many times on the battlefield. He was able to trick Dr. Gero into retreating using reverse psychology.
- Wild Sense: A variation of the Afterimage Technique that allows the user to counterattack right after dodging the opponent's attack.
- Final Blow: Vegeta launches himself forward, and in an instant, delivers a hard punch to the opponent's stomach.
- Final Strike: Vegeta delivers an unblockable kick to the opponent that sends them flying.
- Ignite Strike: Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk Controlled) Vegeta attacks with a powerful strike.
- Crushing in Hands: A strength technique usually used by fighters bigger than their opponents.

- Genocide Breaker: First, Vegeta charges at the opponent and kicks them up into the air. Then, he flies up in the air after the opponent and immobilizes them with a hand chop to their ribs. Finally, Vegeta puts his hand over the opponent's face and blasts them away with an energy wave, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
- Amazing Impact: First, Vegeta dodges the opponent's punch and lays on the ground to double kick them up into the air. Then, he backflips up onto his feet and flies up into the air above the opponent. Finally, Vegeta knocks the opponent down to the ground with a Double Axe Handle, inflicting a high amount of damage.
- Wild Hunt: The user starts the attack by knocking the opponent away with an uppercut, then uses a flying dash to get around behind the opponent to deliver an aerial version of Amazing Impact's double kick to send the opponent flying away again, then flies up into the air to deliver the Double Axe Handle portion of Amazing Impact knocking the opponent into the ground, before powering up with their arms & legs outstretched like a star, then performs a double fist flying charge (similar to Nova Strike) to presumably finish off the helpless opponent.
- Exploding Wave: The user manipulates their ki to disrupt the planet's geomagnetic field. With a swift upwards motion of the hand, the user can create a massive atomic explosion that has the potential to cause an almost endless crater in the desired area.
- Spirit Breaking Cannon: First, Vegeta punches the opponent, then kicks him upwards. Then, Vegeta quickly rushes upward from below, kicking the opponent brutally in the stomach. Finally, he elbows the opponent downwards, inflicting massive damage.
- Galick Impact: As he shouts "Follow this!", Vegeta charges at the opponent and punches them across the face, knocking them on to the ground. Then, he walks towards the opponent when they get up and puts his hand inches away from their back, charging an energy sphere. Finally, Vegeta shouts "You're out of here!" and blasts the opponent away on the ground with a Big Bang Attack, inflicting a high amount of damage.

- Pride of Our Warrior Race: First, Vegeta punches the opponent in the stomach and once more in their face. Then, he grabs the opponent by the head and throws them to the ground. Finally, Vegeta slams down onto the defenseless opponent, assaults them with a barrage of punches and finishes them off with one mighty blow.
- Energy Punch: A powerful punch that is charged with energy.
- Savage Strike: Vegeta clads his fist in blue-colored and then punches the opponent down to the ground, inflicting a huge amount of damage.

Alternate Forms[]
Super Saiyan[]
Though it was only a Saiyan legend at the time, Vegeta was fascinated with this transformation and obsessed over obtaining it so that he could cement his status as a warrior of legend and one of the strongest in history. Seeing Goku achieve this form first and used it to defeat Frieza only fueled his desire to unlock the potential hidden within him. Vegeta attained this form during his time training at 300x gravity in the gravity chamber. Once using this form, his muscle mass increases slightly, his skin-tone turns lighter, his hair turns blond, and his eyes turn green. He also is able to generate a golden aura and his peak performance increases either 10-fold or 50-fold from his base form. Vegeta first showed off the Super Saiyan state while he was fighting Android 19, where the increase of stamina and ki was so great, he could afford to let the android absorb some of his energy, all for the purpose of ripping his foes hands and thereby rendering it defenseless before destroying it.
Super Saiyan Second Grade[]
This form wields much greater power than his Super Saiyan level. At this level, Vegeta personally calls himself "Super Vegeta." He has the same basic golden features of his Super Saiyan level, only now his muscles are much larger. His hair also is bigger and slightly sharper, and he looks and acts more dominant. Due to Vegeta's muscle mass increase, he is much stronger than in his Super Saiyan form, and his speed and agility are unencumbered, unlike the Super Saiyan Third Grade, which significantly decreases speed (but greatly increases in strength). Vegeta went through this transformation when he was training to fight Cell in his Semi-Perfect form. He also used it against Cell in his Perfect form (where he is outmatched and knocked out with his face to the ground after a hard hit to the spine, reverting him to base form). It is suggested by Tien that this form had a power equal to Perfect Cell's, and by Piccolo that Vegeta only lost against Cell because he fought sloppily as when Vegeta used Final Flash, he destroyed a large portion of his body, but he had to redirect the majority of the power of his blast upwards to avoid destroying the planet, and it assumed that Cell escaped the brunt of the attack. Had Cell taken the brunt, he might have actually been destroyed. However, it was soon realized that Cell was really holding back. 16 also notes that although Cell had grown much stronger after absorbing Android 18, he was still ahead in every way, though Vegeta is able to tell that Cell was holding back his power, and this is proven when Cell does not use anything close to his full power to defeat Vegeta with ease.
Super Saiyan Third Grade[]
Future Trunks speculates that Vegeta achieved this form during his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber but did not use it, Cell also says that Vegeta could transform into this form but did not use because he knew of its disadvantages. The anime comic for Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks lists Vegeta as a user of the form.
Super Saiyan 2[]
Vegeta attained this form through many years of intense training. When Vegeta transforms to a Super Saiyan 2, he receives some noticeable changes, such as his hair growing a little bit longer, spikier and becoming more defined than his other previous Super Saiyan forms. He also gains electricity in the aura surrounding his body in this form. His power in this form is double that of his Super Saiyan form. Vegeta is first seen in this form when he fights against Goku while as Demon Prince Vegeta. He also uses this form when fighting Super Buu before the Potara Fusion, albeit only in the anime. He also fights Kid Buu so Goku can gather enough energy in his Super Saiyan 3 form to defeat Kid Buu, during which he is easily beaten and reverted to base as Goku fails to charge up to his full power due to energy depletion. It was also used in the movie Fusion Reborn. Strangely enough, in both instances, including when fighting Kid Buu, lightning is removed from his transformation despite the bolts constantly surrounding his body in the original manga, causing some confusion over whether he actually used this form in the anime or not, as the bolts only appear for about a few seconds when he fires a barrage of ki blasts to stall for time. He also used this form to battle Super 17 and Omega Shenron but is badly beaten both times and seriously injured by Omega Shenron's Dragon Thunder.
Super Saiyan God[]
Through the ritual with six pure-hearted Saiyans, Vegeta became a Super Saiyan God at some point prior to Frieza's revenge during his six months of training under Whis - which eventually led to him obtaining the Super Saiyan Blue form. In the anime, it is said that Vegeta achieved Super Saiyan God without needing the ritual. In the manga, when training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Vegeta manages to train the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms so that he can transform back and forth between the two forms in an instant - moving around as a Super Saiyan God, and attacking and defending as a Super Saiyan Blue, this allows him to negate the stamina flaw of the Super Saiyan Blue form, and allows for more concentrated and powerful attacks. Later, Top noted that the Super Saiyan God state possess the Aura of a God.
Super Saiyan Blue[]
During training with Whis, Vegeta learned that by attempting to transform into a Super Saiyan while in his God-like Saiyan state would cause him to transform into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. It is currently Vegeta's strongest form and at many times he's been able to enhance the transformations power through different means. In this form Vegeta's hair becomes blue and he gains a sharp, silky blue aura. Vegeta uses the form against Golden Frieza after Goku had been taken out and switched turns with him. After the battle against Golden Frieza, Vegeta uses this transformation while training with Goku. When in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta transforms so he and Goku could go all out in the room. During the Tournament of Destroyers, Vegeta's displays the form to Cabba, whom Vegeta took a mentor role over. When Vegeta transformed against Hit, the power of the form was reduced to less than 10% due to this being Vegeta's fourth match in a row and the form requires a certain amount of stamina to maintain. Despite being more powerful than Hit's suppressed state, Vegeta was incapable of hitting him due to Hit's Time-Skip ability and was totally dominated, unable to even land a single strike on him. Later while fighting Goku Black, Vegeta was initially able to dominate Black until he turned Super Saiyan Rosé. Then, Vegeta was swiftly crushed by Goku Black and nearly killed with a ki blade through the chest. After returning from the present Vegeta was once again crushed by the duo of Future Zamasu and Goku Black and escapes with the near dead Goku and after a quick training session in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was able to finally mount and defeat Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black. In the manga during one of his many training sessions in the Hyberbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta manages to train the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms to the point where he can swap between the two at will in an instant. Using the Super Saiyan God form for moving and Super Saiyan Blue for attacking and defending. By doing this Vegeta is able to get around the extreme stamina flaw of Super Saiyan Blue. He uses this while battling Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black and easily overwhelms him.
Super Saiyan Blue Evolved[]
Through anger at Goku breaking his limits and getting one step ahead once more, Vegeta drew on the pride of nearly all his training over the years was purely self-taught, letting him evolve his Perfected Super Saiyan Blue state. In the anime, as noted by the Angels, this transformation is in essence unleashed by breaking a mental shell in subconscious to unlock a much deeper portion of his potential, similar to Ultra Instinct Sign. In the anime, while fighting Jiren alongside Goku in the last minutes of the Tournament of Power, Vegeta awakens to a new power beyond Super Saiyan Blue with power rivaling Goku's Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken. It appears similar to Super Saiyan Blue but with darker hair, and visible black pupils while the irises are royal blue. Physically, he is built similar to Super Saiyan Second Grade, sporting somewhat sharper hair and his muscle mass increasing somewhat. He also can generate a denser aura that is a darker shade of blue and the particles sparkling about it. In the manga, his appearance in this state remains virtually the same but also generates a strong yet calm aura again. Vegeta challenges Jiren with this state and manages to pressure Jiren, who notes Vegeta has given him more trouble than anything else he had faced during the Tournament of Power aside from the "ascended state" that Goku has displayed shortly before. However, Jiren proceeds to easily defeat him after releasing more power.
Ultra Ego[]
During the events of Granolah the Survivor Saga, accepting that Ultra Instinct was not suited for him and choosing to take a path different from Goku's, Vegeta was offered a different skill to learn from Beerus. During his battle with Granolah, Vegeta attained this form for the first time after his Super Saiyan God SS Evolved form is seriously outmatched by the Cerealian. In it, Vegeta's muscle mass becomes noticeably larger and more defined. His hair becomes more jagged. His eyes gain visible pupils and purple irises. His brow ridges become hairless and very pronounced. His aura appears more like a raging fire. In addition to an immense boost of strength and speed, this form also augments Vegeta's sheer durability and endurance. At the same time, the more pain that he endures against a foe, the more powerful he becomes.
