The Lion King is a Disney media franchise comprising a film series and additional media. The success of the original 1994 American animated feature, The Lion King, led to a direct-to-video sequel, a spin-off movie, a 2019 film remake, a 2024 prequel/sequel to the 2019 film, a television film sequel, two spin-off television series, three educational shorts, several video games, merchandise, and the third-longest-running musical in Broadway history, which garnered six Tony Awards including Best Musical.
The franchise mainly revolves about a pride of lions who oversee a large swath of African savanna as their "kingdom" known as the Pride Lands, with their leader Simba watching over it as "king".

- Pride Rock: A magnificent rock formation that serves as a central location in The Lion King universe. It is home to the monarchy.
- Pride Lands: A vast savanna territory controlled by a pride of lions known as the Pride Landers.
- Outlands: A barren wasteland where the exiled animals of the Pride Lands live. Most of its inhabitants are lions who were banished by Simba for remaining loyal to Scar. It is also the home of the Outlanders, including a clan of hyenas descended from the hyenas of the original film
- Elephant Graveyard: A dry, barren, rocky wasteland littered with various elephant skeletons that was once the homeland of the hyenas.
- Tree of Life: A large tree that serves as a safe haven for endangered animals that wish to heal
