- Tamaranean Physiology: Starfire's powers are largely derived from her alien physiology; her body constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy, which can be used for a variety of purposes.
- Superhuman Strength: Starfire is superhumanly strong and was capable of stopping and holding up an elevator containing both Jason Todd and the obese Suzie Su.
- Superhuman Durability: Starfire is so durable, she can resist the vacuum of space.
- Enhanced Vision: Due to her alien physiology, Kory has a better eyesight than the human race.
- Energy Projection: She can also absorb the myriad radiation types from other lifeforms. Her species being powered by the Ultraviolet radiology given by stars and suns. She once used this application of her power to weaken a group of Kryptonians who otherwise required solar radiation to maintain their superhuman abilities.
- Flight: Koriand'r can use her energy to push herself through the sky. This only works when gravity is affecting her, and she cannot fly unaided in space.
- Interstellar Travel: Starfire has also been stated to have flown light years through space in short amounts of time.
- Superhuman Stamina
- Linguistic Assimilation: Starfire is capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person. She usually chooses to use this power in the form of a kiss.
- Starbolts: The solar absorption experiments performed on her by the alien Psions granted her the amazing power to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts". Hyperion described Starbolts as highly concentrated solar energy that possessed incredible power. Starfire also has the power and ability to unleash all her stored energy into a pseudo-nova blast. It is believed to be as hot as the sun itself, and so only used in dire situations.

- Aviation: Koriand'r is highly skilled at piloting alien spacecraft. She stole and refitted the spacecraft she had been enslaved on, the H.M.S.S. Starfire, which she became the commander of.
- Firearms: Koriand'r has been using guns since she was first imprisoned, and has used them against her captors and enemies since. However she prefers to use her Starbolts rather than guns.
- Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced): Koriand'r was taught basic combat moves as a young girl and continued to train throughout her enslavement and beyond. Although highly trained, she is prone to brutally attacking her opponents with reckless abandon when she is angered.
- Swordsmanship: Koriand'r has been seen using swords on a number of occasions. She prefers to use her own fists or her Starbolts to weapons, but her skill with swordsmanship once allowed her to chop the hands off an opponent before he could even react.
