Shaiapouf is an antagonist in the Chimera Ants arc of Hunter X Hunter.
Background []
Shaiapouf is a member of the Royal Guard of the Chimera Ants who serves King Meruem, who is the second to be born. Seeing Meruem creating affection for a human, this being Komugi, Pouf being totally loyal to the king, he thought that he was following a wrong path and, therefore, began to try to eliminate Komugi anyway without the king knowing about it, however, it ended up failing. Shaipouf also helped Meruem recover from the Miniature Rose's damage, however this cost much of his powers which were passed on to the King.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Immense Strength, Agility, Speed, Durability and Stamina:Due to being a member of the royal guard of the Chimera Ants, Pouf was naturally born with above average attributes.
- Genius intelligence: Shaiapouf considers himself, among the three Royal Guards, the most intelligent and the most rational. He is able to arrive at and estimate the probability of a large number of possible scenarios, although his judgment is sometimes clouded by his love for the King.
- Flight:It can fly on its butterfly wings.
- Nen: Nen is the ability to use the user's vital energy, or aura, and manipulate it. Shaiapouf's Nen type is Manipulation which allows him to control living and non-living things, including aura constructs.
- Ten:It is the ability to prevent the aura from leaking out of the body once the aura's nodules are opened and instead contain it in and around the body. Ten prevents the aura from leaving the body, which allows it to maintain youthful vigor and age at a much slower rate. It also acts as a defense against physical attacks and emotional Nen attacks full of malice.
- Zetsu:Stops the flow of your body's aura completely, closing off all aura nodules. This makes them more difficult or even impossible to perceive or feel. However, this means that the defense to any Nen, Ten attack is taken down, making it a major risk to use. Zetsu can also relieve fatigue because it interrupts the use of the aura.
- Ren:It focuses on producing a greater amount of aura than Ten and projecting it out violently. The user exudes a large amount of aura that enhances all their physical abilities, such as stamina and endurance.
- Gyo:Is an advanced Ren application whereby a Nen user concentrates a large part of their aura on a specific part of the body. It increases the strength of one part of the body but leaves the rest of the body more vulnerable as it is a less protective exchange but greater amplification in a particular place. It is often used to improve the perception of seeing Nen structures hidden by the use of In .
- In:Is an advanced Zetsu application and makes its aura unnoticeable to Nen users who can see the already invisible Nen, even an extremely powerful aura is hidden. It hides the normal five senses and even extrasensory perception from Nen users. Em can be seen by Gyo.
- En:is an advanced application of Ten and Ren in which a user extends the aura around a certain distance using Ren to extend their Ten aura to shape it, usually a sphere. The minimum requirements for En are to extend the aura two meters and hold it for one minute. Anything inside En is instantly detected by the user.
- Shu:Is an advanced application of Ten and wraps objects in an aura, allowing them to be used as an extension of the user's body.
- Ko:Is a combination of Ten, Zetsu, Hatsu, Ren and Gyo to focus the user's aura on a specific part of the body.
- Ken:Is an advanced application of Ten and Ren. It is primarily a defensive technique through the use of extended Ren. Ken defends the entire body equally. Can also be used as a miniature En.
- Ryu:Is Ken's use of Gyo in active combat, assigning aura percentages to different body parts when necessary.
- Hatsu:Is Nen's personal expression. They project their will into their aura and can create special abilities. Hatsu depend a lot on the individuality of the person in question. Typically, people are born with affinities with certain Nen categories, which affects how well one can manipulate Nen towards one of the categories.
- Cocoon: Shaiapouf has the ability to give Nen abilities to others. It does this by enveloping them in a cocoon they are in, unconscious, until the process is complete.
- Spiritual Message: Allows Shaiapouf to use his scales as a specialized En. Once they come in contact with someone's aura stream, they make it more distinctive, allowing Shaiapouf to analyze the mixture of 30 emotional patterns and, through them, formulate conjectures about the opponent's psychological state, personality and thoughts, to so that it can formulate strategies accordingly. Its scales also have a hypnotic effect on those who breathe them in.
- Beelzebub: Allows Shaiapouf to break his body into several miniature segments of himself from which he can vary the size of his miniatures.
- Body Reconstruction: Shaiapouf can split his body at a cellular level, making it possible for him to rebuild his body to look like someone else.

- Able to break multiple boulders while flying.
- He was able to land a kick on Morel that knocked him down.
Speed []
- Fast and agile enough to evade Zeno's Dragon Dive aura shards.
- Pouf was able to quickly hit Morel in the back without him being able to react.
- Fast enough to almost hit Komugi squarely even though she was under Killua's protection.
Durability []
- Survived a blow from Meruem.
- Withstood Killua's electrical attacks that destroyed part of his clone's body.
- Easily withstood a punch from Knuckle even though Pouf was weakened by giving up his powers to the king.
- Even though he was poisoned, he was able to resist these effects for quite some time.
Skill []
- His aura was able to stop Knov from advancing through the palace.
- He managed to escape Morel's wall of smoke.
- After landing a kick on Morel, he steals his weapon so that he can't use his smoke powers.
- Alongside Menthuthuyoupi, they were able to bring King Meruem back, healing the Miniature Rose's injuries.
- Able to drive Killua who was with Komugi away from Meruem's palace.
- Managed to deceive Killua about his true intentions.
- Tricked Neferpitou by pretending to be Komugi.
Weaknesses []
- If his cells are destroyed while he has his Beelzebub technique activated, Pouf will take damage to his body.
- His powers were reduced after he helped Meruem recover from the Miniature Rose's damage.

- Shaiapouf's little clones resemble chibi or SD caricatures.
- Menthuthuyoupi and Shaiapouf are the only five-toed Chimera Ants among all the Queen's children.
