SCP-1025 is a safe class anomalous entity contained by the SCP Foundation in a passcode-secured locker at an unrevealed location. It makes an appearance and can be interacted with in the horror video game SCP – Containment Breach.
Background[]
SCP-1025 is an approximately 1,500-page long hardcover book. The front cover and spine feature the title "The Encyclopedia of Common Diseases." The book was printed sometime during the 1900s by an undisclosed publisher. Readers of the book seem to exhibit symptoms of any disease they read. Examples include appendicitis, asthma, cardiac arrest, chickenpox, the common cold, and lung cancer.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Mental Manipulation: SCP-1025 has the ability to deceive readers into thinking they have a common disease when in fact, they do not. This effect leads those in the reader's immediate vicinity to believe they have also contracted the disease, creating a cognitohazard that spreads and renders people into hypochondriacs. SCP-1025 can also lead people to think that the reader has diseases other than those they have read.
- Illusion Generation: Ditto.
Feats[]
Strength[]
- SCP-1025 might possess anomalous properties that the foundation is unaware of, as evidenced by the fact that the playable protagonist of SCP - Containment Breach can die by simply reading about cardiac arrest.
Weaknesses[]
- Immobile: SCP-1025 is immobile and can not move on its own. Therefore it can be easily contained in a locked box and will only function if someone opens it or is nearby.
