Rain is a ninja from the Mortal Kombat series of the kingdom of Edenia, in which he controls powers of water and lightning.
Background[]
Rain was a ninja and the bastard son of the God of Edenia, Argus, in which he became general of the army of his kingdom, being considered a demigod son of a real god, but without a defined name, but very important. Many years later, mysteriously and curious, Rain returns to the emperor's side, assisting him in the Earthrealm invasion, but in a moment Kitana tells him about who killed his real father, and that would have been the Emperor, which made the ninja turn sideways. a suicide mission to kill Shao Kahn. In Mortal Kombat Armaggedon of 2006, he appears to confront Taven, but he loses the fight to his brother dragon and Logo after he escapes.
In Mortal Kombat X HQ, because of the brainwashed state, he appears as an ally of Mileena who covers the Osh-Tekk sun with his rain powers to make them weaker. When Kotal Kahn went to attack Mileena's base, Rain tries to cover the sun next to Goro, but he is caught in a surprise attack by Kotal Kahn, being on the verge of death. After that the same listens to Reiko's conversation and her supposed betrayal to Mileena, then after she wakes up the same log says about the betrayal of Reiko the empress.
In the game of Mortal Kombat X, he appears again next to Mileena in the war against Kotal Kahn, in which after the defeat of Tanya and Kano, he facesKotal Kahn by throwing him from the roof where they were, but even so, Rain ends up for being defeated and almost killed by Erron Black. When Mileena is also defeated for wearing Shinnok's amulet, Rain quickly saves her with her Water Port.
After Rain's brainwashed state disappeared, he was waiting for Tanya and Mileena to die by the prolonged use of Shinnok's amulet and claim the throne to Edenia and save Earthrealm and Outworld from evil.
When D'Vorah and Cassie Cage invade Mileena's hideout, Rain reveals to them his true goal of taking the throne when Mileena andKotal Kahn become weak, so soon after Tanya attacks Cassie, Rain attacks D'Vorah, but is defeated after fighting with her, thus ending her participation in the story so far.

- Orb Mind Control: Rain projects a waterball at his opponent, which shatters as successful hits allow Rain to move his opponent's body in any direction for a brief time.
- Shocking Bolt: Rain raises his arm and summons lightning to attack his enemy, throwing him up if struck.
- Super Kick: Rain gives a kick that throws the opponent across the stage.
- Water Port: Rain plunges into a small pool of water and emerges from behind his opponent.
- H2O Boost: Rain makes waves with his arm above his head and increased damage gains, but he is unable to block. Without spending bar it is glowing yellow, already spending bar it is glowing purple, where time is increased.

- Rain is inspired by the purple rain song of singer Prince.
- Rain wasn't really a villain nor a traitor, he was getting brainwashed by his true archnemesis Shao Kahn.
