Makima is an antagonist from the Chainsaw Man series.

Background

Like all of the Devils in the Chainsaw Man manga, Makima was born out of people's fear of a certain thing, in this case the fear of control. Raised by the Japanese government, Makima wanted nothing more than to form connections with others, having the desire to have a family. Through both her nature as the Control Devil, and the methodology of the government, Makima came to only be able to express her desire by causing fear, believing humanity at large to be below her like dogs.

She later became an important figure in Japanese security, more specifically one of the team leaders of Section 4 in the Public Safety Devil Hunters organization. Eventually, she would witness the legendary “Chainsaw Devil”, having devoured devils who embodied fears such as WWII, AIDS, and nuclear weapons, effectively erasing them from history. Inspired, Makima joined together with the “Four Horseman”, and pursued the Chainsaw Devil, believing he was the key to wiping out the world’s problems permanently, while also viewing him as the only one she could truly see as equal. In preparation for the inevitable return of her “hero”, Makima would gather Fiends who worshiped Chainsaw Devil, forcibly indoctrinate Devils like Angel, and even make a contract with the prime minister of Japan to ensure any harm that came to her would be redirected to the populace of the country instead.

On one of her missions to exterminate Devils, she found a newly transformed and uncontrolled Denji, who she brought to a new life as her personal pet. In doing this, Makima noticed that she had once and for all found the bearer of Pochita, aka the Chainsaw Devil. She would give him a better life, with a good home, food, a job, and a new family he never had, only to eventually take it all away in one fell swoop as all those he loved were killed thanks to her machinations. Completely broken, Denji’s mind receded as Pochita was reborn on Earth.

Having weakened Pochita by setting up Chainsaw Man to be a hero of the masses and lose the power he once held by fear, Makima would confront Denji in a final fight to the death, believing him to be an imitation of the real Chainsaw Man who didn’t deserve to be in control. In a moment of hubris, Makima had let her guard down. Denji, who she thought dead, was alive and ready to defeat her. Makima’s inability to bond with mankind had left her with a habit of identifying people through smell, a weakness Denji had exploited by using a copy of Pochita to fight her. Mortally wounded by the remnants of the Blood Fiend Power’s blood, Denji overcame her immortality with its only weakness: legitimate love. Still in love with Makima despite her vile torture, Denji became one with her by literally devouring her.

Makima would be reborn as a young girl named Nayuta, and would be sent to be raised by Denji. Unlike her prior life, Nayuta would be given nurture and care, and was finally free from the shackles of Control.

Powers & Abilities

• Control Devil Powers: As the Control Devil, Makima can control any lifeform she sees as inferior to herself. This extends to humans, Devils, Hybrids, and even animals like rats and birds. Makima’s usual method is to order individuals to make a contract with her, forever locking them into servitude. Makima can erase the memories of those she commands, and even rewrite their personalities entirely to serve her “willingly”. She can summon anyone she contracted with to herself, even if they are currently deceased, and use their abilities for herself. She can use these abilities in tandem with one another, and can even use controlled animals to hear and see in different places in the world. Some examples of her usage of Control are:
  • Controlled Minions: Makima over the years has gathered a large quantity of controlled minions from humans to Fiends to even other devils. They will be listed here alongside their abilities, alongside examples of Makima using said powers. The only minion confirmed to have been freed from contract is Power, via Pochita’s blood.
    • Possible Contracts: Oddly, Makima is shown to have collected Devils that should have died and reincarnated, such as the Zombie Devil. It's implied she was behind the multiple Devils attacking Denji throughout the course of the story, minus Santa Claus and the Darkness Devil. This should include the Eternity Devil, who was specifically after the Chainsaw Devil, and potentially Quanxi’s Fiends considering Makima killed them alongside Quanxi and later resurrected her. While Fiends generally die if killed (Aki as the Gun Fiend for example), Makima has shown the ability to even control deceased humans, Fiends, and Devils. Makima has not been shown to objectively have them at hand, therefore they are listed only as “possibly”.

• Devil Physiology: Devils in Chainsaw Man are the embodiment of fear of certain concepts, defined by their name, through the collective unconsciousness of mankind. The more the namesake of a Devil becomes feared, the more powerful they become. They can also lose power should they become unfeared. In Makima’s case, she’s the representation of control. She has superhuman strength, speed, and durability. All Devils share the following general traits:

• Bang: Concussive Force / Telekinesis: By using her own force of Control, she can shoot people with her fingers or kill them with a look. This can manifest as either direct concussive force, or a strange grasp akin to telekinesis. Bang is strong enough to harm both the Darkness Devil and Chainsaw Devil, both which surpass Makima’s own physical power. Bang can cross hundreds of kilometers, as it is shown manifesting in space.
• Damage Transfer / Immortality Contract: After contracting with the prime minister of Japan, Makima gained an ability to send any attack and damage to a random citizen from Japan in the form of sickness. It’s efficient to the point that she's able to fist-fight Denji even while being torn apart at the same time. She can also directly send any physical damage she has taken to anyone contracted with her. Since Chainsaw Man takes place in 1997, in order to fully kill Makima, one must kill her over 121 million times, as that was the population of Japan at that time. She can also use this play dead, putting her opponents in a false sense of security, and then attacking when they least expect it.
• Crushing Ritual/Death Ritual: Once arriving at a location of high altitude, Makima can perform a ritual. In order for it to proceed, she utilizes the name of her target and a human sacrifice whose eyes have been blindfolded to say the name of the designated person. Once the prerequisites have been fulfilled, the sacrifice dies and the target is subsequently crushed, leaving only their bloody remains behind.
• Enhanced Senses: Being a Devil grants Makima senses that are outright absurd. She can see Pochita’s actions while he is in space, and she is on Earth. She can see the Gun Devil in perfect detail from 500 kilometers away, and listen in on Reze and Denji's conversation in the middle of a thunderstorm. Kishibe noted that Makima could hear his conversation despite being kilometers away from his current location. She can sniff out the difference between a human and Devil, and identifies all humans via smell. She also was able to hear Denji’s contract with Pochita, despite it being within Denji’s mind. She can further extend her sight and hearing via controlling animals around the planet. She can even converse with the Spider Devil when the latter was in Hell, a separate dimension, while Makima herself was on Earth. She can also retain information of events that have been literally erased from history by the Chainsaw Devil, such as World War III, AIDS, etc, even though no one else on the planet recalls these events ever occurring.
  • Enhanced Smell: According to Denji, Makima primarily differentiates others through smell. In their first encounter, she was able to detect that Pochita still existed within Denji through his scent. However, she cannot differentiate between humans through sight, similar to how we cannot differentiate between dogs by their faces.
• Contract Creation:
  • Animal Transformation: Country mice or town mice? Well it doesn’t matter, since Makima can not only control both of those, but also turn herself into a pack of rats to sneak up on those unsuspecting.
  • Biological Manipulation: Makima is able to manipulate human biology in numerous ways; from making someone's insides bleed with a simple stare, to being able to create a halo out of her own brain tissue (gross). She can use this halo to transport weapons to herself, or even Devils to far distances. This might be an extension of Control, as she can also manipulate dead bodies.
  • Levitation: Makima is able to tower above those who she believes to be below her, both literally and figuratively with her ability to float.
• Domination: As Makima embodies the fear of control or conquest/domination, her abilities reflects this nature. Besides her manipulative way of thinking and acting, she is able to control any being who she believes is inferior to her, even being able to force them into making contracts with her or another Devil. If Makima is not fully convinced that she is superior to somebody, such as Reze, she can best them in a fight to prove their inferiority to herself. It seems as though once placed under her control, the victim subsequently loses their memory of anything that happened immediately before they were controlled and anything they did while being controlled. This ability works on any being, regardless of the number of humans, animals, Devils, Fiends and Hybrids she controls. She can channel the power of her victims by summoning them through a chain connected to her body. It has been shown that she can use the abilities of Angel Devil, Future Devil, Snake Devil, Punishment Devil, Spider Devil and Zombie Devil. Even deceased individuals can be controlled in this manner. Makima was able to form a squad of weapon Hybrids, three of which (Reze, Quanxi and Katana Man) were former enemies who now behaved affectionately towards her. This suggests Makima can control individuals outright as well as changing their personalities in subtle ways. Makima's control can be broken as seen with Angel Devil.
  • She borrows the hearing of rats, birds and other small animals she controls to hear conversations remotely, seemingly anywhere on the planet and possibly extending into Hell itself. She was able to spy on Denji and Reze's conversation and was listening in on Kishibe's conversation with Quanxi. This ability can be circumvented by communicating nonverbally such as writing on a piece of paper.
  • She has been shown to control a large number of rats which allow her to travel around using them. These rats can then cluster together to form the shape of a human and thus allow for Makima to be transported to that location instantly. Makima is also able to summoned through Princi's zipper, which can move her from Earth to hell or wherever the Spider Devil happens to be.
  • She has demonstrated the ability to make others hear her voice by placing her hand on their head even if the person is dead. She uses this to command the Devils that the person is currently contracted with.

• Force Manipulation: Makima has been shown to offensively manipulate an invisible force in a variety of way similar to Darkness Devil. This force can be used to damage her weak targets internally by simply staring at them. Depending on the situation, she can use this power in other various way such as:
  • She has shown to cause her target to be crushed by an invisible force from over long distances. In order to use this technique, Makima appears to require a higher place such as a shrine, the name of a target and a human sacrifice. Makima forms a symbol with her hands and instructs the sacrifice whose eyes closed by a white cloth to utter the name of the target. The sacrifice then dies and target subsequently is crushed, preceded by a brief sense of "wrongness". This attack completely destroys the target's body but causes no damage to adjacent people or objects, even the target's clothes. While she is using this ability, the sacrificial people around herself are blindfolded with a cloth. She used this ability once from Kyoto to kill the goons of Sawatari's gang.
  • She has been shown to inflict damage by projecting an invisible force to targets she points at with her index finger which is strong enough to heavily damage Darkness Devil, who is a Primal Devil, kill Power instantly and send an empowered Chainsaw Man high into the atmosphere when she used it repetitively against him. She usually says "Bang! (バン！)" while using this ability.
  • She has been shown to remove the heads of her targets in the vicinity from a short-to-mid range by using a sword; similar to her ability to crush her targets remotely, the people around her close their eyes with a black cloth.

• "Halo" Portal Creation:
• Immense Strength: Makima possesses a great deal of physical strength allowing her to fight effectively in hand-to-hand combat without relying on any of her subordinates. Her strength was great enough to overwhelm Pochita's weakened form and shatter his chainsaws with her strikes.
• High Alcohol Tolerance: Makima has an exceedingly high tolerance for drinking alcohol; able to out-drink both Aki Hayakawa and Himeno without showing any signs of being debilitated by the vast quantities of liquor/ethanol. However, due to her contract with the Japanese Prime Minister, it is likely that any damage her excessive drinking would have caused was redirected to a random Japanese citizen.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat: Makima is very a proficient combatant, despite not usually being seen fighting. She was capable of defeating a weakened Pochita by herself and only using her fighting skills, she even managed to rip Pochita's heart from his body by restraining him after she defeated him.
• High Intelligence: Makima has shown to be a highly intelligent individual. Even without using her Devil powers, she is very cunning and manipulative. A fine example is the way she controls Denji throughout most of Part 1's story. Makima knows what exactly to say, move and how to react in order to make Denji her pet. Being aware of Denji's desires, she often interferes by making him feel that he is a person, and behind the scenes, she is pulling the strings in order to achieve her goal. Just like she helps him feel love and happiness, she also attacks and makes her move to destroy his personal relationships in order to make him feel desperate and guilty over the losses he suffers.

Equipment

• Devil Hunter Suit: Special suits that Public Safely Devil Hunters wear. Aside from letting her look extremely classy, they’re also stated to be extremely sturdy to allow for extra protection. Nomo’s suit, for example, allowed him to survive a point blank explosion that destroyed a building.
• Sword: Makima sometimes uses a sword in combat. It is sharp enough to cut through Quanxi and two Fiends' necks with no difficulty.

Devils

Spider Devil

• Enhanced Strength: Princi is strong enough to kill zombies with a single strike.
• Intangibility: Princi has been shown to submerge herself under the ground and emerge again to attack her foes at any given time.
• Summoning: Princi has shown that she can unfurl the zipper on her body to summon Makima to her immediate location even in Hell. It is not known if she can summon anybody or only Makima as it is shown that she and Makima can communicate directly even though the former is in Hell.

Angel Devil

• Enhanced Reflexes: Angel has superhuman reflexes, being fast enough to block bullets with his wings and keep up with Quanxi's immense speed.
• Angelic Wings: The Angel Devil has the ability to extend angel-like wings from its back. These wings are tough enough to deflect gunfire and can be used as impromptu shields, however bullets are still powerful enough to cause him pain. It is unknown if he can fly, similar to the Bat Devil.
• Life Span Absorption: The Angel Devil can absorb the life spans of humans through physical contact. This will eventually kill affected victims painlessly if they touch long enough. After Aki briefly grabbed his hand, the Angel Devil estimated that Aki had lost two months of his life span.
• Life Span Weapons: The Angel Devil can transform siphoned-off life spans into physical weapons summoned through his halo, which have supernatural properties, such as Aki's katana that can cut through the normally intangible Ghost Devil. Due to his nightmares about the people whose life spans he has drained, he is hesitant to use this ability frequently.
  • Usage: Five Years: By using up five years worth of collected life span, the Angel Devil can manifest a sword from his halo that seems to instantly kill anyone that he cuts with it, without leaving a mark.
  • Usage: Ten Years: By using up ten years worth of collected life span, the Angel Devil can manifest a sword from his halo. Its effect and strength remain unknown because it was used against Makima, and she quickly knocked him down before he could attack.
  • Usage: 100 Years: By using up a hundred years worth of collected life span, the Angel Devil can manifest a sword from his halo. This ability was used by Makima against Power while she was controlling the Angel Devil.
  • Usage: 1,000 Years: By using up a thousand years worth of collected life span, the Angel Devil can manifest a spear from his halo. This ability was used by Makima against the Chainsaw Man while she was controlling the Angel Devil. Makima threw this spear by summoning three humanoid entities. This technique is strong enough to defeat the Chainsaw Devil.

• Spear Proficiency: The Angel Devil is skilled at using spears in combat; accurately throwing a spear through Reze from a nearby rooftop.
• Swordsmanship: The Angel Devil can use a sword with some skill, cutting down five of Santa Claus' puppets in a single swing.

Snake Devil

• Absorption and Release: The Snake Devil can devour other devils with its gigantic mouth and then expel them at a later point to fight on its behalf. Doing so any being that is released is fully healed and can fight in place of the Snake Devil.

Zombie Devil

• Zombie Creation: The Zombie Devil has the power to turn humans into zombies, who are forced to act as his loyal servants. Humans who are bitten by zombies are transformed into zombies themselves. Zombies are able to move and attack even if they are heavily injured, making them tougher than normal humans. During the final fight against the Control Devil, it is shown this power can revive corpses.
• Blood Consumption: Like all the devils, the Zombie Devil should be able to restore his health by consuming blood. After being cut in half by Denji, the Zombie Devil was presumably able to heal his injuries after being given blood.

Fiends & Hybrids

Reze, The Bomb Hybrid

• Enhanced Strength: Despite being a young girl, Reze has a great amount of physical strength; she could break an assassin's arm effortlessly and choke him to death, and with a simple knife she could cut cleanly through Denji's wrist in one swing. She is also strong enough to bite Denji's tongue off and throw her own head with enough force to break a glass window.
• Enhanced Speed: Reze could cut through Denji's throat before he could react and slice straight through Denji's wrist before he could pull his chainsaw cord.
• Hybrid Transformation: By pulling a pin on her neck, much like a grenade, Reze can cause herself to explode and transform into a hybrid form. She also can perform the same technique but instead of just transforming, she blows her head off and leaves the rest of her body as a decoy to distracted her opponents. This decoy can hold it's own head and throw it, the head then explodes just like a bomb and reveals a transformed Reze. The headless decoy body can be remotely controlled and act as a bomb, catching its target off-guard.
  • Augmented Durability: Reze becomes drastically more durable in this form as she can withstand a full-power kick from the Violence Fiend without taking any damage. Her body can also withstand her own explosions without taking any damage and fall from the sky at immense velocity.
  • Explosion Creation: After pulling the pin on her neck, Reze gains the ability to create explosions. The explosions are powerful enough to destroy vehicles, buildings and asphalt roads. Her explosions are also effective against other Devils, being capable of harming the Shark Fiend and Denji in his hybrid form. Besides that, Reze does not take any damage from her explosions, unless she desires, allowing her to use her powers without worrying about harming herself.
    • Explosive Propulsion: By releasing explosions from her arms and legs, Reze can enhance her physical attacks and mobility with the explosive force from the blasts. She can also travel through the air by causing continuous and consecutive explosions, being capable of keeping up with cars.
      • Augmented Strength: By infusing her attacks with explosive force, Reze's punches and kicks become more devastating. Her explosive unnamed attacks have also been shown to be powerful enough to destroy trucks and send Denji flying several feet into the air.
      • Augmented Speed: Reze is able to use the explosive force created from her blasts to increase her movement speed. By releasing a massive explosion, Reze was able to send herself flying several feet into the air. She was also able to use her explosions to reach Aki's car in a short period of time.
    • Explosive Spark: By flicking her hands, Reze can release a spark which explodes upon impact. This attack serves as a long range projectile and is powerful enough to kill ordinary humans.
  • Self-Detonation: Besides her ability to release explosions from her body, Reze also has the power to turn parts of her body into bombs. Unlike her normal explosions, which are more instantaneous, the explosive flesh behaves more like a remote bomb. The body parts that Reze losses by using them as explosives do not appear to cause her damage, since she is able to regrow them without needing to drink blood.
    • Torpedo Transformation: Reze can transform her limbs into torpedoes, which makes her punches and kicks more devastating. Reze does not appear to suffer any damage from the detonation of her torpedo-like limbs.
• Blood Consumption: As a hybrid, Reze is able to restore her health by consuming blood. After drinking blood from the Typhoon Devil she could regrow her severed leg instantly.
  • Nigh-Immortality: Due to being a hybrid, Reze is immortal and nearly unkillable. She can survive being beheaded, bisected and take all kinds of injuries that would kill most devils. Even if she dies, as long as someone pulls her pin, Reze can come back to life in perfect condition.
• Knifemanship: Reze is skilled at the use of knives. She could cut cleanly through Denji's wrist in one swing, before he could pull his chainsaw cord.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat: Reze is skilled in unarmed combat. In her normal human state she could expertly disarm and injure an assassin, outmaneuvering him completely by getting around him and putting him a stranglehold. She was also able to break Denji's neck without any effort, paralyzing him instantly.
• Bilingual: Reze has demonstrated the ability to speak both Japanese and Russian.

Katana Man

• Hybrid Transformation: By removing his left hand from his body and revealing a katana which emerges from the stump, he can transform into the Katana Hybrid form with swords emerging from his arms and his head. Removing the katana from his arm will undo his transformation. After his transformation is undone, he is unable to fight for a while.
  • Augmented Strength: Katana Man's strength is greatly enhanced in his transformed state, allowing him to cut through solid walls with his slashes. He is also strong enough to cut the Fox Devil's flesh and the reinforced uniform used by Public Safety members, however he was not capable of making a deep cut in the suit with just one slash.
  • Augmented Durability: In his Hybrid form, Katana Man is durable enough to survive getting thrown through walls and falling from buildings without taking any damage. He also managed to survive being swallowed by the Fox Devil.
  • Augmented Speed: After transforming, Katana Man's speed is improved, allowing him to compete with Aki and Denji in terms of speed. He can also slash walls in the blink of an eye.
    • Sword-Draw Dash: Katana Man's special technique, it is a quick-draw sword technique (also known as iajitsu) by crouching down low and preparing to unleash his swords, Katana Man can dash forward at incredible speeds and slash at his opponent as he goes by them, often appearing to simply teleport past them before his attacks appear on his opponent's body. Katana Man moves faster than the average human eye can see and he can use this technique multiple times in a row without any apparent drawback. While this attack tends to only affect a specific part of the enemy's body, it does so with significant force, severing limbs or cutting the opponent in half. However, Katana Man does not actually disappear when he uses this attack, meaning it is possible to block or counterattack this move and wound him. If he gets injured while using this technique, the damage will take a few moments before it appears on his body, just like when he cuts someone with this attack.
• Blood Consumption: As a Hybrid, Katana Man is able to restore his health by consuming blood. After being bifurcated by Denji, he was able to regenerate his body.
  • Nigh-Immortality: Due to being a Hybrid, Katana Man is immortal and nearly unkillable. He can survive being bifurcated, getting shot and take all kinds of injuries that would kill most Devils. Even if he dies, as long as someone removes his left hand, Katana Man can come back to life in perfect condition. After being killed by the Curse Devil, Akane managed to revive him, despite the curse being believed to be lethal.
• Marksmanship: In his human form, Katana Man has used a handgun to gun down Denji, Aki and Himeno at close range.
• Swordsmanship: Katana Man is a skilled fighter with his arm blades, able to clash against Aki and Denji and ultimately overwhelm them with his powerful slashes.

Crossbow Hybrid

• Enhanced Strength: Quanxi possesses a level of strength having been described by Hirofumi Yoshida as being beyond what is humanly capable. When wielding swords, she can cut through dozens of humans and dolls without slowing down and only stopped once her weapons were destroyed by the force of her own attacks. Even a blocked strike was enough to knock out both Aki and Angel. Her strength is remarkable enough that even when in her human form, she was capable of dismembering three weapon hybrids, even when one was transformed.
• Enhanced Speed: Even in her human form, Quanxi possesses superhuman speed. She could disappear from the sights of five devil hunters by blitzing past them while cutting through an army of dolls created by the Doll Devil, before the original five devil hunters realized they had already been killed. More remarkably, she was capable of beheading three hybrids before any of them could properly react, all while in her human form.
• Enhanced Reflexes: Quanxi has superhuman reflexes, her time perception can keep up with her own superhuman speed. She can also dodge attacks rapidly and even stop a moving knife with her fingers.
• Hybrid Transformation: By pulling an arrow out of her right eye socket, Quanxi can transform into a hybrid with many arrows and spikes emerging from her arms and head.
  • Arrow Shooting: In her Hybrid form, Quanxi is equipped with crossbows in her arms which can shoot several arrows at her targets. These arrows are shown to be quite powerful as they are able to tear perfectly circular holes into whatever Quanxi shoots. She can also use this ability to defeat enemies from close range by firing a buckshot to wipe out a group of enemies quickly.
• Blood Consumption: As a hybrid, Quanxi is able to heal wounds by consuming blood, regenerating her entire body from just a head.
  • Nigh-Immortality: Due to being a hybrid, Quanxi is immortal and nearly unkillable. Despite likely being over 50 years old, Quanxi still looks the same way she did 30 years ago. Even if she dies, as long as someone pulls her arrow, Quanxi can come back to life in perfect condition.
• Bilingual: Quanxi has demonstrated the ability to speak both Japanese and Chinese.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat: Quanxi is a skilled fighter in hand-to-hand combat, with Kishibe considering her to be one of the best in the world. She is highly specialized in using kicks, within a matter of moments she could disable Denji, Tamaoki and Kusakabe using nothing but kicks.
• Swordsmanship: Quanxi wields multiple blades in combat, swapping them out as they're destroyed by the force of her own attacks. Combined with her high speed she can cut through entire crowds of enemies at once.

Feats

Strength

• Blew holes through multiple people.
• Killed Quanxi and two of her Fiends with a simple slash.
• Sent the Chainsaw Devil to orbit, making Pochita bleed in the process. Pochita can:
  • Wreak havoc in Hell.
  • Tackle Quanxi through multiple skyscrapers (2.85 kilotons of TNT)
  • Completely ignore the Flamethrower Devil's attempt to roast him.
  • One-shot the Hell Devil.
  • Bust out of Hell.
• Competed with Denji with her bare hands and eventually tore out his heart. Denji can:
  • Catch and toss back cars.
  • Fight evenly with the Bat Devil, who could destroy a building with its breath attack (0.864 - 7.4 tons of TNT)
  • Shoot a chunk of earth into the air and throw it at Makima.
  • Cut his way out of the rubble of a destroyed building.
  • Chop the Katana Hybrid in half with a chainsaw on his leg.

• Kept fighting Denji even after being killed 27 times

Weaknesses

• Despite her immense set of abilities and incredibly good regeneration, Makima met her end by hands of Denji due to a highly elaborate plan. Taking advantage of the scent of her beloved Chainsaw Devil in battle, Denji realized he had never been any significant to her, catching her off guard with this trick due to not sensing his real smell, damaging her, cutting to pieces and devouring her. In other words, Makima can be tricked with smell, as she mainly identifies targets via scent.
• Her contract can be bypassed by attacking with her with zero killing intent, as in Denji’s mind, his attack on her was an act of pure love to become one with her.
• Her regeneration can be slowed down by a constant attack on her body, as Denji lets Power’s blood run wild inside of Makima, wrecking her insides for minutes on end. This may have been due to Denji being the one enacting the attack, thus the loophole.
• It is also unknown if her contract would be able to restore her body if completely destroyed. At most it's shown restoring her after she was chopped into small pieces.
• Her immortality does not protect her from spiritual attacks.
• Her precognition can only see a few seconds ahead, so it's not really perfect. It also requires the Future Devil to be within her, so if it's killed, her precognition will be lost.
• Due to her immortality, Makima also has a habit of allowing attacks to hit her regardless of any consequences since she’ll recover from them anyway, so oftentimes she won’t be concerned about getting hit repeatedly with fatal wounds.
