Background[]

Link is the main protagonist and hero from The Legend of Zelda series and video games, he is a young grown man who always rescue Princess Zelda from his archenemy Ganondorf, who attempts to take over Hyrule with no success. Link has several counterparts named Toon Link, Young Link and Ravio and the dark counterparts of himself named Dark Link, Shadow Link and Link's shadow and Link manages to defeat his evil clones by finding their weaknesses. In Ocarina of Time and its 3Ds remake including Soul Calibur 2 GameCube version, he is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama who also voiced the anti-hero BlackWarGreymon from the japanese version of Digimon Adventure 02 while his child form is voiced by Fujiko Takimoto who also voiced Toon Link from A Link to The Past/Four Swords and in Tri Force Heroes. In all of games, he is voiced by actors and actresses from GameCube, Wii, DS and 3Ds consoles including Nintendo Switch. Link is also a guest character in Soul Calibur 2 GameCube version when he is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama, he is the same Link from Ocarina of Time when he was portrayed as an grown-up when Link, still a child grabs the Master Sword that causes him to grow up into an adult form, he has green tunic, red tunic, blue tunic and purple tunic much like in the Super Smash Bros. series. He can throw his Boomerang, throwing bombs, shooting arrows with his bow, he can have various swords like the Great Fairy Sword that increases his life energy. He was summoned by Princess Zelda and he is sent on a mission to equip his Master Sword, his Hylian Shield, his Ocarina of Time in order to defeat Soul Edge who has taken control of Sigfrield's mind by transforming him into Nightmare, but Link manages to destroy Soul Edge and saves Hyrule. Link is also the protagonist from The Legend of Zelda TV series along with Princess Zelda. Link does not talk, instead, he only shouts at his enemies with his weapons or his sword to scare the opponents, in the TV show, he talks, but in the video games, he does not. In Ocarina of Time 3D, Nobuyuki Hiyama reprises the voice of Adult Link when Fujiko Takimoto reprises the voice of Young Link.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Enhanced Endurance: The Great Fairy of Courage give Link double the defense as a gift for retrieving her stray fairies from Great Bay Temple.
  • Great Strategist: He can adapt to nearly any foe and he always manages to find out the enemy's weaknesses.
  • High Weapon Proficiency: No matter what kind of weapon he's wielding, chances are he will master them in a heartbeat.
  • Skilled Puzzle Solver: Thanks to his huge arsenal and his above-average intellect, Link is capable of sorting out all sorts of obstacles that require a lot of skill.
  • Flurry Rush: When Link dodges an attack at the last possible second, he can unleash a flurry of blows with his current weapon to deal immense damage to his opponent.

  • Expert Sailor: Link has travelled the entire Great Sea in his boat, The King of Red Lions.
  • Expert Loftwing Pilot: Link is a highly skilled at flying Loftwings (a giant friendly bird of sorts).
  • Time and Weather Manipulation: With the Ocarina of Time, Link can instantly manipulate the weather or time itself for his own sake.
  • Expert Horseback Rider: Link has easily ridden his horse Epona around the fields of Hyrule without much trouble. With Epona, Link's travel speed is increased and can get around large fences.
  • Spin Attack: Link charges his sword with magic to deliver a powerful spinning blow.
  • Hurricane Spin: A charged-up Spin Attack that lasts much longer and does more damage. However, it leaves Link dizzy and wide open once it's finished.
  • Magic Spin Attack: By striking a certain pose, Link is able to infuse magic into his sword. When Link breaks this pose and goes into a spinning attack, he disburses the magic out of the sword for greater range. The longer he stays in this pose, the range on the Magic Spin Attack will increase. At first, the Magic will be blue, which changes over to a red state with farther range. However, Link can use the red state of the Magic Spin Attack without striking the pose and without using magic.
  • Skilled Swordsman: Link has received training from some of the most experienced swordsmen in Hyrule, who taught Link several secret techniques.
    • Sword Techniques:
      • Upward Thrust: Whenever Link jumps for any reason, he can perform the Upward Thrust Sword Technique which allows him to deal damage to enemies he normally wasn't able to reach. It should be pointed out he still may not be able to deal damage to enemies way above his jumping height.
      • Downward Thrust: Whenever Link jumps for any reason, he can perform the Downward Thrust Sword Technique which allows him to impale his enemies from below him.
      • Jump Attack: Link jumps forward and strikes downward with his sword.
        • Jump Strike: Link charges energy within the Master Sword, following with a two-hit combo that starts with a left swipe into the air and one strike downward, which creates an area-of-effect that damages and knocks back any nearby enemies. This is better used when surrounded.
      • Spin Attack: Energy is stored within the Master Sword, of which Link releases by spinning around and attacking from every direction.
        • Great Spin Attack: Even more energy is put into the blade, which takes some time to charge, before releasing a stronger form of the move that has more range and more power.
        • Great Spin: A completely separate move, it allows Link to instantly perform a more powerful Spin Attack instantly if he has full health.
      • Ending Blow: Link will finish off an enemy when they're lying on the ground, in which he jump and stabs them in the chest area.
      • Shield Attack: Link can punt his shield forward, either to stun enemies or to deflect physical projectiles.
      • Back Slice: Link hops and rolls behind his opponent, jumping into a vertical slicing motion, usually attacking from the back area.
      • Helm Splitter: If an enemy is stunned with the Shield Attack, Link can jump forward and flip midair, slicing the opponent from the scalp.
      • Mortal Draw: A dangerous move, Link will stand unarmed and not targeting an enemy. If one draws near, Link can instantly draw his blade and kill the enemy in one strike. It is highly risky due to the lack of defenses.
      • Sword Beam: Allows Link to shoot beams from the tip of his sword when he's at full health.
      • Dash Attack: Allows Link to attack with his sword while he uses the Pegasus Boots.
      • Peril Beam: Allows Link to shoot a beam when he's low on health.
      • Rock Breaker: Allows Link to slice through solid stone.
      • Roll Attack: Allows Link to perform a powerful thrusting attack after rolling.
  • Spells:
    • Shield Spell: Allows Link to take half the normal amount of damage, it costs 16 magic points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Jump Spell: Allows Link to jump higher then normal and costs 8 magic points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Life Spell: Allows Link to restore three bars of his health (32 health points total which counts as 25% to his total health) and costs 50 magic points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Fairy Spell: Transforms Link into a legitimate fairy which allows him to fly into places he normally can't get access too, this however renders him unable to attack nor defend himself while in this form, this cost 40 magic points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Fire Spell: This spell allows Link to shoot two fireballs at a given moment from the tip of his sword regardless of health and costs 16 magic points to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link),
    • Reflect Spell: Allows Link to reflect magical projectile attacks with his shield as he can even deal damage to certain wizards by simply reflecting their own magical attacks right back at them. Further more, it allows Link's shield the capability to block fireballs, throwing axes, and throwing clubs. This spell costs 16 points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Spell Spell: (Apply named), allows Link to open the vault that contains the Magical Key. At the right edge of the Hidden Town of Kasuto, if Link casts the spell the vault rises from the ground. This spell is also capable of turning many enemies into Bots. Despite this, more powerful enemies such as the Eagle Knights are immune to its effects. This spell costs 16 points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Thunder Spell: This spell allows Link to instant-kill many enemies around him, it is also useful for making certain foes like the Thunderbird to be valuable to physical attacks and costs 64 magic points for Link to cast (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Din's Fire: A powerful magical spell, Link must perform a special pose before unleashing a powerful wave of fire that engulfs surrounding enemies in flames.
    • Farore's Wind: When Link performs a special pose, he will be able to set a point that he could use for fast travel. If he does it again, he could travel to said point or create a new one.
    • Nayru's Love: When Link performs a special pose, a magical crystalline barrier will surround Link. For a brief period of time, Link will be completely invincible. However, he can still be knocked back by a heavy blow and is unable to use magical items while in use.
  • Spirit Abilities:
    • Mipha's Grace: Revives Link with full health and adds extra health to himself. Requires one in game day to recharge, or 8 in game hours if Link is in Hyrule Castle. Its upgraded form requires 8 in game hours to recharge, or 2 hours 40 minutes in game while in Hyrule Castle.
    • Revali's Gale: Creates an upward draft that can carry Link into the sky. Requires 6 in game hours to charge, or 2 if Link is in Hyrule Castle. Its upgraded form requires 2 hours in game to recharge, or 40 minutes in game while in Hyrule Castle.
    • Daruk's Protection: Creates a red crystal barrier around Link when used, protecting him from all attacks and damage while up, as well as deflecting certain attacks back such as Guardian beams. Requires 8 hours in game to recharge, or 6 if Link is in Hyrule castle. Its upgraded form requires 6 in game hours to recharge, or 2 in game hours while in Hyrule Castle.
    • Urbosa's Fury: Forms a spherical field of light around Link before lightning comes down and strikes everything in that radius. Requires 12 in game hours to recharge, or 4 if Link is in Hyrule Castle. Its upgraded form requires 4 hours in game to recharge, or 1 hour 20 minutes in game while in Hyrule Castle.

Equipment[]

  • Swords:
    • Master Sword: Once known as The Goddess Sword which was purified and tempered by three sacred flames which was then blessed by Zelda, the mortal incarnation of the Goddess Hylia. It is a holy weapon that is designed to be the blade of evil's bane. Has the power to vanquish evil due to the fact it's a weapon with Holy/Radiant properties Base form is the Master Sword itself which dose twice as much damage as the Fighter's Sword, it's 2nd form being the Tempered Sword (three times as powerful) and it's 3rd form being the Golden Sword (four times as powerful). Has the soul of Fit as she is part of the Master Sword itself as the blade will choose it's wielder, be it the Hero of Time and/or otherwise. It can also be charged with lightning, shoot beams with Skyward Strike, and slay immortal monsters.
    • Wooden Sword: Link's basic sword that he receives from the old man. (The Legend of Zelda).
    • White Sword: Link's more powerful sword that he also receives from the old man (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Magical Sword: Link's most powerful sword that he also receives from the old man himself (The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Gilded Sword: A sword built upon the Kokiri Sword with Gold Dust.
    • Great Fairy's Sword: A longsword given to Link by the Great Fairy of Kindness. While its length prevents Link from using a shield with it, it is four times as powerful as the Kokiri Sword, making it extremely useful for dealing out damage.
    • Biggoron's Sword: A two-handed sword forged by the swordsmith Biggoron. While it deals twice the damage as the Master Sword, it can't be used with a shield due to its size.
    • Ordon Sword: While originally meant to be a present to the Royal Family of Hyrule, Link finds himself using this sword until he obtains the Master Sword itself.
    • Four Sword: A legendary magical sword with the power to dispel evil, break curses, and creating four spiritual clones. These clones can deal damage and use all of Link's weapons, but they have to move in the same ways as Link, and they will disappear if Link, or any of the clones take damage.
    • Phantom Sword: A sword that can damage Phantoms and Bellum.
    • Fighter's Sword: This sword is received from Link's uncle along with the Fighter's Shield just before he passes away.
    • Ultimate Sword: A powerful sword Link finds during his dream which bears a striking resemblance to the Master Sword, albeit with a change in color: its hilt is a golden hue, as opposed to the typically blue-purple hilt of the Blade of Evil's Bane.
  • Shields:
    • Hylian Shield: Link's main defense tool, the Hylian Shield is made of wood and metal, and can defend against most enemy attacks, along with deflecting projectiles.
    • Wooden Shield: Link's basic shield that he starts out with, he uses this to block only rocks and arrows (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Magic Shield: Link's more powerful shield as part of his equipment, he can use this to block most fireballs and most magical attacks as well. If a Like Like devour his Magic Shield for any reason, Link will revert back to his Wooden Shield (The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Deku Shield: A simple wooden shield used by the Kokiri Tribe. It can deflect projectiles, but will burn if it makes contact with fire due to it's wooden properties.
    • Hero's Shield: A standard metal shield Link possesses in his search for Navi in the beginning of the story. This shield cannot deflect projectiles, unlike the Deku Shield, though it is generally more durable.
    • Mirror Shield: While it no longer deflects projectiles, it can reflect beams of light for various purposes and absorb fire and ice attacks. When it absorbs three of either flames or ice, it will fire the element out as a blast, losing the stored power in the process.
    • Fighter's Shield: It provides protection against basic projectile attacks, such as arrows or spears, but is vulnerable to other projectiles such as fireballs and beams.
    • Red Shield: In addition to the same protection it grants like the Fighter's Shield dose, the Red Shield also grants protection against fireballs.
  • Bows & Arrows:
    • Hero's Bow: The Hero's Bow is Link's main ranged weapon, which lets him fire arrows. With the Giant Quiver, Link can carry up to fifty arrows at a time.
      • Arrows: Normal wooden arrows. In extremely high temperatures, they will burst into flames, turning them into makeshift Fire Arrows.
      • Bomb Arrows: A regular arrow with an explosive at its tip, which detonates upon contact with an enemy. In high temperatures, the Bomb Arrow will blow up as soon as it's drawn, damaging Link in the process. If used in rain or water the Bomb Arrow will not explode.
      • Fire Arrows: Arrows imbued with fire magic that are extremely effective against cold-based enemies, but are ineffective in the rain.
      • Ice Arrows: Arrows imbued with ice magic, freezing enemies on contact.
      • Shock Arrows: An arrow imbued with electricity, shocking enemies on contact. If used in rain or water it will shock anything in a nearby surrounding area.
      • Light Arrows: Shoots arrows that are completely made out of light. It's traits are known for being able to pierce through and destroy all evil, such as Ganondorf. It has immense strength that is capable of defeating enemies in one hit by this item.
      • Silver Arrow: A more powerful version of Link's arrows, these are required to kill Ganon as well as foes as powerful as him.
      • Ancient Arrows: A special type of arrow made specifically for defeating Guardians. When it hits something, it unleashes an explosion of blue energy that completely disintegrates all organic life it touches. These arrows are powerful enough to one-shot a Guardian by hitting them in the eye or by hitting it's base if it is a mobile guardian. If you fail to hit an enemy or the arrow hits something that it cannot disintegrate, you will be able to pick it up and use it again.
    • Fairy Bow: Link's main projectile weapon during his adult adventures. The arrows can both pierce through foes and hit objects for puzzle-solving. The bow can also shoot three other kinds of arrows alongside the normal ones: Fire Arrows, Ice Arrows, and Light Arrows.
    • Sacred Bow: An upgraded bow with extreme power and accuracy. Link can charge the arrows to make them deal x1.5 damage, making them three times as strong as the Master Sword. Link can carry up to 55 arrows.
  • Boots:
    • Winged Boots: This allows Link to cross certain bodies of water to get to places he otherwise wasn't able to get to before (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Hover Boots: When these boots are equipped, these give Link a brief amount of time to walk on thin air or water and has the ability to never sink in quicksand as long as he has these on. However, the boots do not give Link any traction.
    • Iron Boots: When these boots are equipped, its heavy weight will heavily weigh Link down. With them equipped, he can sink down to the bottom of the likes of lakebed and can resist powerful winds. The only downside is that while wearing them, Link has limited and slowed movement due to its heavy weight put down upon him.
    • Pegasus Boots: This allows Link to move at incredible speeds in a straight line which will allow him to mow enemies and even fields away at ease. He can keep going until he slams right in front of a wall and he can still take damage if he takes a hit from enemy attacks, causing him to abruptly stop.
  • Boomerangs:
    • Boomerang: Link can throw this Boomerang for the purpose of not only combat but also puzzle solving, this weapon is very useful for not only stunning enemies but also killing weaker ones. In addition, it is also used for allowing Link to grab items that are otherwise beyond his reach (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Magical Boomerang: A special boomerang that Link can control at will. It can stun enemies or bring items closer.
    • Gale Boomerang: A magical boomerang that contains the Fairy of Winds. When thrown, the Gale Boomerang generates a small whirlwind around itself, which can be used to put out fires, cut ropes, carry far away items, and even bring enemies towards Link.
  • Gloves:
    • Handy Glove: This allows Link to crush blocks with just his sword as it further increases his strength in order to do so.
    • Power Bracelet: Whenever Link wears the Power Bracelet, it will bolster Link's kinetic power to that of a supermortal, which allows him to push rocks aside thus revealing secrets (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Golden Gauntlets: Gauntlets that greatly boost Link's lifting strength, to the point where he can lift and throw colossal pillars of granite.
    • Mogma Mitts: They allow Link to dig into the underground with ease.
    • Mole Mitts: A pair of gloves that allow Link to dig tunnels at high speed.
    • Magnetic Gloves: This allows Link to to attract or repel magnetized objects if need to be. If the affected object is stuck in the ground, Link will attract or repel himself accordingly. Opposite polarities will attract each other, and equal polarities will repel each other.
    • Power Glove: This grants Link enough strength to lift small and large gray stones at ease and takes him 2 seconds to lift a large one as well (through it prevents him from moving the moment he dose so).
      • Titan's Mitt: As it's an upgrade to the Power Glove, this allows Link to lift small black stones at ease and takes him 2 seconds to lift a large one as well (through it prevents him from moving the moment he dose so).
  • Hammers:
    • Hammer: This allows Link to utterly destroy large boulders whenever they cross his path, even through he never used this in combat (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Megaton Hammer: A large steel hammer that was used by a Goron hero to slay the dragon Volvagia. While Link sacrifices use of his shield while using it due to its weight, the hammer is powerful enough to shatter boulders and cause small-scale shockwaves.
    • Skull Hammer: A large hammer that can flatten enemies or break hard materials.
  • Medallions:
    • Bombos Medallion: With the Master Sword in hand, this allows Link to create mighty pillars of fire in a circle around Link, and then releases explosive force on all enemies in sight, effectively destroying most enemies around him. He can cast this spell up to a total of eight times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) before having to refill his mana.
    • Ether Medallion: With the Master Sword in hand, this allows Link to creates a blast of intense cold, freezing or even killing all enemies on screen, and briefly displays the invisible crystal paths in some dungeons. He can cast this spell up to a total of eight times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) before having to refill his mana.
    • Quake Medallion: With the Master Sword in hand, this allows Link to create massive earthquakes, damaging enemies and weakening lesser opponents by turning them into Slime, and it can also shake out the contents (if any) of any tree in the near vicinity, just like if Link dashed into a tree using his Pegasus Boots. He can cast this spell up to a total of eight times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) before having to refill his mana.
  • Bottles: Link holds up to four of these bottles as they all start out as empty, he can fill these bottles with the following as mentioned below.
    • Red Potion: This will instantly refill Link's health to full.
    • Green Potion: This will instantly refill Link's mana to full.
    • Blue Potion: This will instantly refill Link's health and mana to full.
    • Fairy: If Link catches a fairy with his Bug-Catching Net and puts one in a bottle, the fairy will remain until he releases it or until he dies whichever happens first. Should Link actually die, the fairy trapped in the bottle will resurrect him with some health.
    • Bee: If Link catches a bee with his Bug-Catching Net for any reason and puts one in a bottle, the bee will remain until he releases it. As soon as he dose, the bee will attack a chosen target on Link's behalf until it flies away or until it dies whichever happens first.
    • Good Bee: If Link catches a Good Bee with his Bug-Catching Net for any reason and puts one in a bottle, the bee will remain until he releases it. As soon as he dose, the bee will attack a chosen target on Link's behalf until it returns to Link or until it dies whichever happens first.
  • Giant Bomb Bag: With this bag, Link can carry up to a grand total of 60 Bombs, 30 Water Bombs, 20 Bomblings, and some Bombchus.
    • Bombs: Bombs are used to create explosions. Only seconds after they are set, they will flash red and then explode in a puff of smoke and fire. Bombs can be used in a variety of ways, such as for blowing up rocks or walls, defeating Dodongos among other enemies, and solving puzzles.
    • Water Bombs: They function like normal bombs do, expect they can also be used underwater for combat and otherwise.
    • Bomblings: While they are enemies, Link can pick them up and put them into his inventory. They will explode whenever they crash into enemies or otherwise.
    • Bombchus: Mice-shaped bombs that, when placed on a flat surface, travel across it before exploding after a couple seconds, or when they hit something. They are also capable of moving up walls.
  • Potions:
    • Elixir Soup
    • Purple Potion
    • Chateau Romania: While Link usually has a limited pool of magic, a full bottle of Chateau Romania gives him unlimited magi for 3 whole days.
  • Tunics: Link must obtain three tunics in all for his quest to obtain the six Sages. There are three tunics in all, and they are simply the clothes Link are wearing, which may have their own special attributes. Link's default tunic is his Kokiri Tunic, which does not have any special attributes.
    • Goron Tunic: A heat-resistant tunic that lets Link survive in extremely hot areas, such as a volcano, without trouble. It also provides slight protection against fire attacks.
    • Zora Tunic: A tunic that lets Link breathe underwater perpetually without oxygen.
  • Wind Waker: A magic relic that has several powers that depend on the song that Link plays.
    • Wind's Requiem: Changes the direction of the wind.
    • Song of Passing: Makes time pass from daytime to nighttime or vice versa.
    • Ballad of Gales: Summons a tornado that transports him to somewhere else.
    • Command Melody: Possesses a statue or willing person and let's Link control it.
    • Earth God's Lyric: Opens the door to the Earth Temple.
    • Wind God's Aria: Opens the door to the Wind Temple.
  • Sheikah Slate: A multipurpose tool bearing the Eye Symbol of the Sheikah that Link obtains shortly after awakening. It is how Link uses his runes and can create a scope of the land and create beacons of light that Link places as a way to remember where he is going.
    • Magnesis Rune: Allows Link to lift and carry metallic objects using magnetic energy.
    • Remote Bomb: A bomb that can be detonated remotely that comes in the shapes of a cube and a sphere.
    • Stasis Rune: Allows Link to freeze objects in time. While suspended in time, objects will store any additional kinetic energy that is inflicted upon them. Link can strike a suspended object with a Weapon to produce a vast amount of kinetic energy, which will cause the object to suddenly move as it regains mobility.
    • Cryosis Rune: Allows Link to spontaneously create pillars of ice from the surface of any body of water.
    • Camera Rune: Take pictures of enemies, weapons, bows and arrows, shields, and materials to complete the Hyrule Compendium. Items added to the Compendium also include information about each item including common locations.
    • Master Cycle Zero: A motorcycle-like vehicle created from ancient Sheikah technology, which was given to Link by the Sheikah monk Maz Koshia after completing his trial. It can be summoned using the Sheikah Slate, and while it does have a limited fuel supply, it can be refilled by dumping assorted materials into the cycle.
  • Masks:
    • All-Night Mask: A mask which prevents the wearer from falling asleep.
    • Blast Mask: A mask that can detonate at the wearer's will.
    • Stone Mask: A mask that makes the wearer invisible... Except for when it doesn't.
    • Great Fairy Mask: A mask which attracts stray fairies.
    • Bremen Mask: The wearer of this mask can make a march, which small animals will march along with.
    • Bunny Mask: Increases the wearer's speed.
    • Don Gero's Mask: A mask which lets the wearer talk to frogs.
    • Mask of Scents: A mask which heightens one's sense of smell.
    • Mask of Truth: A mask which lets Link hear the thoughts of animals and Gossip Stones.
    • Couple's Mask: A mask that calms people around the wearer.
    • Gibdo Mask: A mask which makes one look like a Gibdo for People and Gibdos.
    • Captain's Mask: A mask which lets Link talk to Stalchildren and make him appear as Captain Keeta.
  • Ocarina of Time: An Ocarina given to Link by Zelda. With this Ocarina can Link play songs with certain effects. Originally obtained at a pond as his younger self, Link can use this ocarina to sing songs, of which can manipulate the world around him and summon objects.
    • Song of Time: A song which allows Link to travel back into a certain point in time.
      • Song of Double Time: The Song of Time, but with every note played twice, Link jumps forward to the following 6 am or 6 pm.
      • Reverse Song of Time: By playing the song of time in reverse, Link can slow down time to a third of its normal speed.
    • Song of Healing: A song which "heals souls"; Usually by turning them into masks that Link can use to turn into what that soul was.
    • Song of Storms: A song that makes it instantly rain.
    • Song of Soaring: A song which teleports him to an owl statue of his choosing.

    • Blue Candle: Link can use the Blue Candle to shoot a fireball that goes a few feet that will burn for a few seconds before the flame burns out, while it's main purpose is to light up dark rooms, it can also deal damage to anyone (including Link) that walks to it. Link can only produce one flame at a time with the Blue Candle (The Legend of Zelda).
      • Red Candle: An upgrade to the Blue Candle which allows Link to produce unlimited flames (The Legend of Zelda)
      • Candle: Despite being optional, this item allows Link to light up pitch-black places and allows him to see enemies in such places (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link)
    • Blue Ring: Whenever Link wears this ring, it allows him to take 50% the normal damage on all attacks (The Legend of Zelda).
      • Red Ring: An upgrade to the Blue Ring as it allows Link to take a total of 25% the normal damage on all attacks dealt against him (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Blue Potion: Link can drink this once to refill his entire life bar (The Legend of Zelda)
      • Red Potion: An upgrade to the Blue Potion as Link can drink this twice to refill his entire life bar twice (The Legend of Zelda)
    • Blue Mail: Allows Link to take 50% out of the 50% of damage being dealt against him for any reason.
      • Red Mail As it's an upgrade to the Blue Mail, it allows Link to take 25% out of the 75% of damage being dealt against him for any reason.
    • Compass: This allows Link to locate important treasure chests in addition to bosses (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Cross: This allows Link to see through invisibility thus allowing him to see enemies and otherwise that where under the effects of invisibility (Zelda II: The Adventures of Link)
    • Food: This allows Link to attract a group of enemies near by. With this, he can also be able to set up a trap to destroy a group of them if need to be or retreat to keep them at bay. Link also needed this item to feed a hungry Goriya with it before he allowed him to pass (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Magical Rod: Link can use this Magical Rod to shoot projectile beams that are similar to that of what a Wizzrobe shoots out.
      • Book of Magic: This book will further increase the power of Link's Magical Rod and allows him to shoot fireballs.
    • Map: This item allows Link to navigate the world and dungeons more easily (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Raft: This allows Link to cross gaps such such as rivers and lakes that grant him access to places he normally didn't have access to from the start (The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventures of Link).
    • Recorder: Also known as a whistle in the game manual, Link can use this to warp to any dungeon that he has previously cleared, he can also use this to reveal hidden entrances as well.
    • Stepladder: This allows Link to cross through small spans of water, pits, or hot lava that would otherwise impede his progress (The Legend of Zelda).
    • Fairy Slingshot: A simple weapon that uses Deku Seeds as a projectile to hit far away enemies or switches. Link's Bullet Bag can hold up to 50 seeds.
    • Hookshot/Longshot: A contraption made to reach long distances. It shoots out a hook that will latch onto specific surfaces that allows Link to reach, by himself, unavailable locations. The hook when shot can also temporarily stun enemies. The Longshot holds the same functions, but has nearly double the original reach.
    • Clawshot: Link can use this to latch at vines, targets, Peahats, and grids. Further more, he can also use it to remove the armor of Helmasaurs in order for Link to deal damage to it.
      • Double Clawshot: Link can grapple two targets at once. Should Link be in a hanging position, he can raise or lower himself, allowing him to fire the other Clawshot from a better angle. Link can also equip the Iron Boots while hanging from a Clawshot to pull down certain objects.
    • Powder Keg: Giant explosives bought from Biggoron. He can only hold one at the time and can only use them in Goron Form.
    • Deku Nuts: Nuts that stun enemies.
    • Deku Sticks: Sticks obtained from Deku Babas. He mainly uses them to transfer flames, but he can also use them in combat.
    • Lens of Truth: A lens which lets Link see things that are otherwise invisible. This item drains magic constantly when used.
    • Magic Beans: Beans which will create a flying platform when planted and watered.
    • Lens of Truth: This magical lens was created by the Sheikah with the ability to see the unseen to the naked eye and illusions while in use. However, it will slowly drain Link's magic usage while it is in use.
    • Ball and Chain: A weapon that allows Link to utterly shatter ice and rocks instantly. Further more, he is also capable of inflicting heavy damage on enemies with it as well.
    • Whip: A mystical weapon that Link can use to stun enemies or even steal from them. It can undo parts of the enemy's armor as well. Link may also use it to swing across gaps.
    • Scattershot: An upgraded slingshot that shoots Deku Seeds. It doesn't deal a lot of damage, but a charged shot can stun an enemy.
    • Tough Beetle: A remote-control flying beetle robot. It can be used to pick up far away objects, drop bombs on the enemy or even scouting.
    • Gust Bellows: A strange relic that can be used to reveal hidden items, stun small enemies and clean your house.
    • Sailcloth: A present from Zelda that he can use to parachute to the ground without taking damage.
    • Water Dragon's Scale: It allows Link to swim like a fish (but unlike other similar items from the series, he still needs air).
    • Fireshield Earrings: Negate heat-based damage.
    • Up to 5 Empty Bottles: Which he can fill with several types of potions or even fairies.
      • Heart Potion: Heals Link.
      • Stamina Potion: Prevents Link from losing stamina for some time (up to six minutes with the Potion Medal).
      • Guardian Potion: Makes Link completely invincible for some time (up to six minutes with the Potion Medal).
      • Fairy: Revives Link if he loses all his health.
    • Ezlo: A Minish that was turned into a hat. It gives Link tips, and allows him to shrink to the size of an ant.
    • Gust Jar: A non-damaging artifact that works as a potent vacuum, capable of sucking up lots of substances.
    • Cane of Pacci: Another non-damaging artifact that can flip upside-down any item, and it can fill holes with kinetic energy to allow Link to use them as trampolines.
    • Lantern: A classic lantern that Link can use to light the way, melt ice structures, or set some foes on fire.
    • Roc's Cape: A magic cape that allows Link to leap large distances.
    • Ocarina of Wind: A musical instrument that allows Link to call Zeffa, a bird that can carry him to distant regions of Hyrule.
    • Grip Ring: A magical ring that allows Link to easily grip to rough surfaces, such as a very steep mountain.
    • Power Bracelets: A pair of bracelets that increase Link's physical strength, even in his shrunken form.
    • Bug-Catching Net: Link can use this net to catch faeries and bees to store in his bottles. Further more, he can also be able to deflect magical attacks, especially those being fired from Agahnim (this is fact).
    • Cane of Byrna: Link can use this cane to places a protective barrier spiraling around himself, guarding him from enemy attacks and harmful surfaces such as spiked floors for a duration period of 25 seconds total (assuming he hasn't cast anything else while at full mana), while damaging any enemies it comes into contact with. The barrier will deactivate itself the moment Link's mana runs down to zero. While the protective barrier is active, it also prevents Link from using his Whirlwind Sword Attack. Further more, the moment Link switches to another item for any reason while using the Cane of Byrna, the invulnerability will immediately wear off.
    • Cane of Somaria: Link can use this cane to create a block he can move around and solve puzzles with. Further more, he can also use the cane to turn the block into a four-way fireball attack and can do so for up to 63 times total (provided he hasn't cast anything else).
    • Fire Rod: Throws a projectile fire attack that can set Link's opponents on fire one at a time. He can use this up to 16 times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) until he runs out of mana.
    • Flute: This allows Link to teleport to a different location as it will summon a bird which will carry him at a place of his choosing (this only applies in the Light World).
    • Ice Rod: Throws a beam of ice that can freeze many of Link's opponents frozen solid. He can use this up to 16 times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) until he runs out of mana.
    • Lamp: This allows Link to see in dark places. Further more, it also allows him to light up torches that will light up a room until they go out. He can use this up to a total of 64 times (provided he hasn't cast anything else) before he runs out of mana.
    • Magic Cape: This allows Link to be invisible so as long as he still has mana, he can remain so for at least a total of 17 seconds (assuming he hasn't cast anything else while at full mana). Further more, should Link switch to a different item for any reason, the effects of the Magic Cape will immediately wear off.
    • Magic Powder: This allows Link to transform certain enemies; Buzzblobs can be turned into Cukemen, Anti-Fairies into Fairies, and certain enemies into harmless piles of Slime. Sprinkling Magic Powder on the strange statue near the Dwarven Swordsmiths's Smithery awakens the Mad Batter, who "curses" Link, cutting the magic he uses by half. Also, Magic Powder can be sprinkled on the Sweeping Lady in Kakariko Village to turn her into a Fairy, but curiously, only after obtaining the Bug-Catching Net and/or a bottle.
    • Roc's Feather: This allows Link to lighter and allows him to jump to great heights. If used in conjunction with the Pegasus Boots or Pegasus Seeds, it allows Link to leap great distances in a single bound.
      • Roc's Cape: An upgrade of the Roc's Feather and allows the wearer to jump and glide farther than normal.
    • Shovel: This allows Link to dig up items of value including quest items.
    • Slingshot: This allows Link to fire off various kinds of seeds that will deal the following effects to his foes. With the Seed Satchel, he can hold up to a total of twenty seeds.
      • Ember Seeds: These seeds resemble small flames, and can be used to light torches, defeat enemies and burn saplings that hide hidden passageways. Link can hold up to twenty ember seeds with the Seed Satchel.
      • Gale Seeds: These seeds resemble large gusts of wind and can be used to transport Link to any seed tree in Labrynna or Holodrum. In a dungeon, they can transport Link back to the start of the dungeon. Furthermore, they can be shot at enemies to warp them away.
      • Mystery Seeds: These seeds resemble question marks and can be used on Owl Statues to receive hints. When used on most enemies, they produce a random effect similar to that of one of the other four types of seeds. For certain enemies, such as Buzzblobs and Cuccos, Mystery Seeds will cause a mutation to occur, turning them into Cukemans and Baby Cuccos, respectively, in a similar fashion to the Magic Powder.
      • Pegasus Seeds: These seeds will further increase Link's speed for a short duration period. Further more, they will also stun his foes for a short duration period as well if fired against such individuals.
      • Scent Seeds: These seeds will lure enemies away from Link and to his foes where he will have an easier moment to kill such foes or provide a means to escape if need to be.
    • Switch Hook: The Switch Hook is a metallic object consisting of a clamp connected to a handle by a chain, it allows Link to switch places with certain targets such as pots, rocks, and enemies, allowing transport over large holes.
      • Long Hook: An upgrade to the Switch Hook, its chain is longer than that of the Switch Hook and its firing rate is also faster.
    • Zora's Flippers: This allows Link to swim to places he normally can't swim without.
    • Magic Armor: A magic charm that protects Link from damage as long as he has Rupees and Magic. Link can carry up to 5,000 Rupees.
    • Phantom Hourglass: Allows Link to survive inside of the Temple of the Ocean King and lets him stop time.
    • Paraglider: With this item, Link can glide through the air at great speeds.
    • Thunder Helm: A precious heirloom of the Gerudo that makes Link immune to lightning.
    • Scimitar of the Seven: A famous one-handed scimitar once beloved by the Gerudo Champion Urbosa.

Alternate Forms[]

Deku-Form[]

The form that Link was turned into by Skullkid, which eventually turns into a mask that Link can then wear.

  • Spin Attack: By spinning his body, Link extends out his hat to create a circular attack
  • Sap: He can shoot magical sap out of his mouth, which he can use as a projectile in the shape of a bubble.
  • Deku Shell: A Deku shell he can drape over his body to use as a shield.
  • Propellers: Link can enter a small bush, then be shot out of the bush like a cannon. When shot nout, he creates two flower propellers that he can fly short distances. When he is in flight, he drop Deku nuts against enemies.

Goron-Form[]

A Goron-form Link that he can turn into when he wears the Goron Mask, which he creates when he places Darmani's soul to sleep.

  • Strength: In this form, Link has physical strength beyond that of an average human, and his punches contain just as much power as the Megaton Hammer from Ocarina of Time
  • Rolling: Just as any Goron, Link has the ability to curl up in a ball and roll forward as a method of transportation. Unlike most Gorons, when he reaches high velocity, Link reaches a stage where spikes emerge around body and gets a boost of speed. He can't tap into the state if he is out of magic.

Zora-Form[]

A Zora-form Link that he can turn into when he wear the Zora Mask, which he creates when he places Mikau's soul to sleep.

  • Fins: A set of two fins extend from Link's arms. He can use these fins as blades and boomerangs. They are also durable enough to use as shields.
  • Barrier: When swimming, he can omit a magical aura to shield him from enemies.

Giant -Form[]

An enormous form of Link which he gains when he wears the Giant Mask in Twinmold's layer.

Hero's Shade[]

Hero's Shade is a deceased form of Link. This form of Link cannot pass on because Link has no one to pass his teachings onto. However, he was able to teach his unique techniques to the Link in Twlight Princess and thus finally pass on. In this form, Link retains his Gilded Sword and his Mirror Shield from his adventures in Termina. He also is able to transform into a wolf in this form.

Fierce-Deity Form[]

A form Link can access by wearing the Fierce Deity's Mask, a mask created by the Lunar Children with all the masks Link has collected through Termina (Meaning Link can't have access to his masks outside of the Deku, Goron and Zora masks if he would use this mask). Link's power increases in this form and he can shoot out beams from his sword.

  • Limited Magic Use: Link can only use a finite amount of magical items at a time, of which use up his Magic Meter. If it runs out, Link cannot use any magical items. However, he can restore it with a special item such as a potion.
  • Whenever Link takes a hit that deals damage to him for any reason, he's unable to shoot Sword Beams from his sword until he recovers to full health.
  • Link's inability to swim causes him to drown should he either jump or get knocked into the water (the only exception is when he wears the Winged Boots when crossing certain bodies of water).
  • If Link ever loses his Blue/Red Ring, he will lose the benefits of the damage reduction.
  • Both his Deku Form and his Zora Form are extremely weak to fire.
  • He can't use multiple magical applications simultaneously.
