John Marston is the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption and secondary protagonist of red dead redemption 2 he is married to Abigail Roberts (Marston) and has two childs one dead and other alive Jack Marston(alive) and rachel marston(there isnt an actual confirmed named for his daugther but some people believe it may be rachel as his unique horse in the epilogue is called rachel)that is dead but doesnt have any mentions in red dead redemption 2 he owns Beecher's Hope a medium sized ranch on west elizabeth close to blackwater

"The cowboy:This is Marston's typical bounty hunter clothing" he wears a dark grey denim vest (denim jacket with the sleeves cut off),a dirty beige everyday shirt under the vest, black goatskin gloves, a shatchel for his equipment with his knife place in its side, a dark grey hat with a white feather in it, pinstriped bootcut pants, a red necklace in his neck, old ranching boots with grey spurs and 2 belts one for the pants with a big golden problaly personalized buckle in it and a personalized gunbelt, there is also a bandolier that can be purchased in stores it weirdly fits his personalized gunbelt colors for smth he just buyed in a store perhaps he personalizes it too.
"The Rancher:This is Marston's typical clothing when tending the ranch at Beecher's Hope." He wears the same hat from "the cowboy" outfit, an grey shirt with a white collar and white buttons, an dark grey open vest, dark grey personalized bracelets, dark brown ranching pants, same old boots from "the cowboy" outfit but without spurs, he wears 2 belts one for the pants with a silver buckle and his personalized gunbelt, his knife,bandolier and satchel are not in this outfit.
His most iconic and first seem wearing outfit The Cowboy doesnt have a real origin but His rancher outfit is a gift from his wife abigail marston(abigail buys it for john in epilogue part 1 during 1907 in the events of rdr2)

he was born in 1873 his mother died when he was born, his father was an illiterate scott that got blinded at a bar fight south of chigaco and died when john was 8 years old, after this john got sent to an orphanage but runned away and started living by his own, he shot a man for the first time when he was 11 years old at 1884 one year after when he was already 12 he got saved by dutch from lynching at the hand of some homesteaders who caught him stealing, after this john started living with the gang, in 1895 he runned away from the gang for 1 year soon after jack was born, However he got welcomed back by most of the members with open arms apart from arthur that felt betrayed by john's actions, in 1899 john got shot in the failed ferry job, and after that got attacked by wolfs while scouting ahead on ambarino, that was when he got his face scars, what follows next is the events of rdr2 and after that the events of rdr1.
Abilities[]
Marston has "Dead Eye", an impressive ability with guns, that allows time to be slowed down for him so he can mark his shots and them fastly hit everything he marked, it seems that dead eye can be possessed by other people in the RDR Universe as Jack Marston(adult jack 1914) and Arthur Morgan, both also have this ability, its also hinted that Landon ricketts and Micah bell both has dead eye, as while fighting Micah during 1907, everytime you try to use dead eye it just turns off as micah fastly aims towards John and shoots multiple times, getting 1 or 2 hits, as for landon our hint would be that apart from being a legendary and famous gunslinger, he is also the one who helps Marston's dead eye to hit peak again after a lesson on how to shot right he gave john.

During rdr1 and rdr2 John uses multiple kinds of guns, as he is a skilled gunslinger, but as some unique weapons he has we can list:
• John's cattleman revolver (unlocked in rdr2 epilogue):an black cattleman revolver that is used by john during 1899 and 1907 in the events of rdr2, nowhere to be seem in the events of rdr1.
• John's hunting Knife(unlocked in rdr2 epilogue):an personalized knife used by john in 1899 and 1907 in the events of rdr2 nowhere to be seem in the events of rdr1.
• John's lancaster repeater:an personalized lancaster repeater that is totally painted silver in its metal parts and has orange wood in its wood parts, it's seem in rdr2 on 1899 being used by john, nowhere to be seem in 1907 and 1911(rdr1), wich means is one of the guns we can't use even after reaching the epilogue only see it as arthur with john during 1899.
• John's Knife(you have it from the start in rdr1):John's knife during rdr1 isnt his old personalized knife, but actually an different one, some knifes of the same kind can be seem in rdr2 being used by npcs to cut meat in towns and settlements, in the epilogue you can see this knife he uses in rdr1 being used by abigail to cut meat.

Strength-John is stronger than the average man but not shown as a beast in strength[]
Durability-During 1907 john is as durable as Arthur and if you finish all challengues more durable than arthur by 2/10 pieces of life bar earning his full life bar, in 1911 he is less durable by a long shot since in rdr1 you died much easily and by less shots there is also a hardcore mode where you is much less durable than the normal mode[]
Stamina-during 1907 john stamina can be either good as Arthur's or better if you finished the challengues but by rdr1 his stamina is just infinite[]
Dead eye-john dead eye somehow doesnt outrun micah but is better than arthur's if you finished the challengues[]
