Jaune Arc is a character from the RWBY web series.
History[]
Wanting to be a hero like most members of his family, Jaune Arc used fake transcripts to get into Beacon Academy, as he had never went to a combat school before-hand. At Beacon Jaune became the leader of Team JNPR, and soon got actual training by Pyrrha Nikos.
Abilities[]
- Aura: Aura is the manifestation of one's soul and can be used for wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training and innate skill. Jaune's aura can heal minor injuries and increase the strength of his attacks.
- Semblance: Jaune’s semblance is augmentation, using his own aura to accelerate or amplify the aura/semblance of an ally. It was awoken in desperation to aid a mortally wounded Weiss, causing her boosted aura to speed her healing process. He has since used his semblance primarily to heal other Huntsmen/Huntresses and amplify Ren’s ability to become unnoticeable to Grimm to mask large vehicles that Ren, on his own, could not cloak.
Equipment []
- Crocea Mors: A combination between a sword, sheath and shield. The sword is a normal sword. While the sheath transforms into the shield, which can block heavy hits.
- Broadsword Form: By folding the shield over the sword's blade, Jaune can form it into a large broadsword. This form of Crocea Mors is much stronger and sharper than the normal sword, but it leaves Jaune without a shield.

- While not battle hardened, Jaune has demonstrated a knack for strategy and ability as a field commander.
- Held up an Ursa Major's arm with his shield, with some help from Pyrrha.
- Decapitated an Ursa Major.
- Capable of harming the Nuckelavee, which took attacks from both Ruby and Nora without much damage.
- Contended with a casual Cinder Fall and slightly harmed her.
- Assisted in restraining Maiden Penny Polendina alongside the rest of Team RWBY, Team JNPR, and Emerald.
Speed[]
- Can keep up with his teammates and Team RWBY, who can all react and dodge bullets.
- Caught a falling Weiss out of the air in his arms.
- Comparable to Yang, who ran fast enough to travel a bridge and then scale up a pillar faster than rubble falling.
- Thrown several watermelons at Team RWBY in just a couple of seconds.
- Slashed an Ursa Major multiple times faster than it could react.
- Shouldn't be far behind Mercury and Emerald, who can dodge lightning summoned by Amber.
- Likely comparable to Sun Wukong, who intercepted the Sei Feilong's lightning bolt breath.
- Evaded the Nuckelavee Grimm's extendable arms.
- Blocked Ren's shots from point-blank range.

- Smashed against a wall by Pyrrha, and his only reaction was confusion

Weaknesses[]
- Due to Jaune's Aura only having been recently awakened, he doesn't know how to activate his Semblance.
- If his Aura takes too much damage, it will break, leaving Jaune susceptible to harm.
- Lacks experience compared to his teammates, though he has improved over the course of the series.
- A bit clumsy.
- Has no ranged weaponry.
- Can get airsick.
- Didn't go to a combat school before Beacon.
- Overextends when enraged.
- Drops maps... a lot.
- Sometimes doesn't realize the obvious.
- Can be emotionally fragile and harbors severe guilt over Pyrrha's death, then later having to kill Penny for the final time.
- His time in the Ever After took a tremendous toll on his mental health, leading him to name all the Paper Pleasers after his friends, take them hostage and not allow them to die, controlling their lives to keep them "safe".
- He overcomes this, however, after seeing them reborn as the Genial Gems and realizing he was stopping them from becoming what they needed to become.
