~ Katakuri

Charlotte Katakuri is an antagonist of the Whole Cake arc of the One Piece anime/manga series.

Background[]

Katakuri was born as the second son of Charlotte Linlin and the third son of the Charlotte Family. When he was ten years old, some bullies Katakuri had beaten took revenge by slashing Brûlée's face. Angered, Katakuri retaliated and attacked the bullies. Having blamed his naivety for the attack on Brûlée, Katakuri decided to become a ruthless and cold man to make everyone fear him so that he could protect his siblings and family, which included hiding his mouth with a scarf ever since.

During Whole Cake, on the day of his sister Charlotte Pudding wedding, however, upon seeing her failure to kill Sanji, Katakuri ended up picking a fight with Luffy, Sanji's captain, and thus, with Brûlée's power, they went to the mirror world fight. Luffy and Katakuri fought for several hours, however, Katakuri ended up giving up and accepting defeat, as he ended up creating an admiration for Luffy as an opponent.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Mochi Mochi no Mi: A special Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, this fruit allows the user to create, control, and transform into mochi. The user has the ability to generate and transform any part of their body into thick, extremely slimy mochi to manipulate as they please. This paste is thick enough to be usable, especially when hardened by Busoshoku Haki, as an effective blunt force weapon and is capable of trapping people, even extremely strong ones, due to its sticky and elastic nature. Additionally, due to its malleability and compatibility with Haki, mochi can be formed into a huge variety of shapes, such as fists, tendrils, and even spiked clubs. As a "special" Paramecia, this Devil Fruit's ability to transform into mochi is analogous to a Logia's elemental transformation. Thus, the user is intangible against attacks that are not imbued with Busoshoku Haki, and they can freely transform their transformed body into any form.
    • Regular Techniques
      • Yanagi Mochi: Katakuri sprouts several long tendrils of mochi in imitation of his leg and uses them to stomp on his opponent.
      • Mochi Tsuki: Katakuri, while holding his Mogura spear, tightly twists his mochi arm and then untwists it while thrusting the spear forward, creating a very powerful piercing stab. powerful.
      • Kaku Mochi: Katakuri transforms his arms and hands into mochi and compresses them until they acquire a square shape. He then hardens them with Busoshoku Haki and punches his opponent. The fists' compact and tight square shape results in attacks that are much stronger than a regular Haki-enhanced punch, enough to cause Luffy great pain when clashing fists with it.
      • Yaki Mochi: Katakuri inflates his mochi forearm until the pressure causes it to explode, propelling his Haki-encrusted fist at his target from a distance. The fist's speed is so high that it catches fire due to friction.
      • Zan Giri Mochi: Katakuri's strongest attack. He transforms his entire body into mochi and quickly spins towards his opponent in a donut shape. When he catches up with his opponent, he reverts to his normal form and, using the spin's momentum, slams his enlarged mochi forearm, covered in spikes and hardened with Busoshoku Haki, into his opponent with tremendous force. In addition to the damage dealt by the powerful impact, his opponent will also be stuck to his forearm due to the stickiness of the mochi, which Katakuri uses to spin his arm several times through the air before smashing it into the ground from a very considerable height, crushing his opponent under his heel. weight with enough force to create a large crater.
    • Awakened Techniques
      • Nagare Mochi: Using his awakened powers, Katakuri turns the ground around him into mochi and uses it to capture his opponent from a far distance.
      • Kagami Mochi: Using his awakened powers, Katakuri turns nearby walls and ceilings into mochi and causes them to crumble at his opponent, burying them under a large pile of mochi and smothering them.
      • Amadare Mochi: Using his awakened powers, Katakuri transforms nearby surfaces into multiple blunt-ended mochi tendrils. He then has them converge on his opponent with great force, trying to crush them.
      • Muso Donuts: Using his awakened powers, Katakuri summons tendrils of mochi from the ground and rolls them into the shape of donuts. The name of this technique is a reflection of Katakuri's love for donuts.
      • Chikara Mochi: Katakuri shapes donut-shaped mochi into giant arms enhanced by Busoshoku Haki, similar to his Kaku Mochi technique. With a layer of mochi over his hands, he then manipulates his arms to punch his opponent with extreme force, enough to cripple and send Luffy flying while in his highly resilient Gear Fourth mode.
      • Mochi Ginchaku: A more powerful version of Chikara Mochi, Katakuri summons multiple mochi donuts around his opponent, using his Chikara Mochi from multiple vectors simultaneously, molds them into Busoshoku Haki-enhanced arms, and makes them attack his opponent. Katakuri throws his arm down once, which results in dozens of punches being thrown simultaneously, efficient for landing multiple strikes in a single motion.
  • Haki
    • Kenbunshoku Haki: Katakuri's application level with this type of Haki is advanced. This means that he can feel the flow of his target's attack pattern and how they will respond to the attack, going so far as to know their mental state and intentions for near perfect understanding. He can sense the presence of target individuals or objects over vast distances around at least tens of kilometers. Lastly, he can also perform active precognition, seeing events happening at least several seconds before they occur, giving him a chance to strike back before they happen.
    • Busōshoku Haki: Katakuri is able to apply invisible armor around his body, subtly increasing his defenses.
    • Haōshoku Haki: The ability to project one's will outward by emitting an explosive shock wave from the user's body. Able to cause those with less will or power to be knocked unconscious or put into a seizure-induced state.

Equipment[]

  • Mogura: It is a pink trident used by Katakuri, having its three points close together. The middle pin is a full spear shape, while the two on the sides are half-blades.
